Who agrees? The only good thing about Jazz...it scores highly in Scrabble

Bretrick and Holly, there are many, many kinds of jazz. I think I may be able to post a couple jazz tracks that you might like... if you approached them with an open mind. Maybe yes, maybe no. Would you give them a listen, if I posted them on the "what are you listening to" thread?
I will listen to them. Tag my name so I do not need to go looking for them.

I couldn't disagree more! There are many forms of Jazz, much of it I love and listen to often. Manyy of my compositions are Jazz fusions, mainly Smooth Jazz and Latin Jazz. I first got into listening to Jazz when I was about 14 and have enjoyed several different artists and styles over the years. I don't like Avant Garde or Bee Bop Jazz, however. I have a couple of Jazz favorites playlists.

@HermitHogan I love some Miles Davis, but not all of his stuff. Would you believe I think I have the Kind of Blue CD, but never played it !? One of my favorites by him is Teo, from the Someday My Prince Will Come LP. Do you have that one?

Miles was not afraid to cross the lines into other genres, so had recorded tracks I really like that are best described as fusions. Here are two of them that are in my collection. Check out the first comment on the first video...funny!

I know very little about jazz, been trying to educate myself.
Good for you! You might give Django Reinhardt a try. His small band swing music with he on guitar, along with his partner Stephane Grapelli on violin, is very catchy, heart felt, and foot tapping. They played mostly in the '40s and early '50s, and the two of them influenced a ton of players who followed.

I'm sure there are plenty of cuts by him on YouTube.

Gypsy jazz is pretty good, too! We saw the Hot Club of San Francisco in Savana, Georgia when we took a trip there maybe six or seven years ago and they were highly entertaining.
I've never heard of Gypsy Jazz (I know... I know, it's hard to believe there is something I don't know something about [hey that would be a good life quote]) but Gypsy Jazz sounds very interesting. Don't miss me while I go research it and don't worry I'll be back to tuck you in.

I'm actually a hack songwriter who doesn't really care for blues, rap, hip-hop, country, jazz, or folk music. I like contemporary ballads and rock n' roll. Of course, the magic is in the melody!

Okay I listened to some Gypsy Jazz, not my favorite music genre - not that my likes matter in the least.

Consider yourselves tucked in - sweet dreams.

Bring on that techno music
