There needs to be a "Dislike" option along with the "Like" option.

"Ooooh, I don't like what he/she said, so I'm gonna stick my tongue out and give a dislike by golly!" Nah, I may have done that in high school, but I'm with @Michael Z about mature members being at this forum, so it's unnecessary.

Besides, if I truly dislike, feel insulted/offended by, or strongly disagree with something, I'm going to put it into words (hopefully respectfully although that's up for interpretation depending on what kind of mood I'm in that day. 😁 )

YouTube took away the dislike/thumbs down quite a while ago because they were getting a lot of mob mentality with it, btw.

That's right. If you dislike something that much, put it into words. For those who want to put less thought and effort into it, there's a whole list of various emojis which can be used in a reply.

There’s enough negativism in this world without the overuse a thumbs down on an OVER FIFTY FORUM. How old is everyone on this forum? I thought we had to be out of high school.

Since the subject has been brought up, I would like to a check mark āœ…. We use it all on the time on the horse forum to indicate someone’s input has been helpful.

Laugh away those who want to ridicule - the next time I have to pick up a snake and remove it from the garage apron, I’ll think of youšŸ

Dislike is often a reflection of how you feel at the moment and not how you'll feel later on when you realize you have no opinion about it and wonder why you bothered to "dislike" it in the first place.

There are some posts where I have absolutely no idea what someone is going on about. This is usually when they open a new thread and are unclear what the topic is addressing. That's when I would like to see a question mark emoticon "?" that I could select.

I always use this one when I'm unclear...

On one of the biggest British Forums for seniors,.. there was a dislike button, and it was used universally to bully by the clique..

One woman , a very nice woman IMO.. had said something the clique disliked at some point, and from then on for years , it didn't matter what she said.. she could have said Jesus was a Christian, but she was bombarded with red downward thumbs.....it was disgraceful

I met that woman in person at a group forum meet-up, and she really was a nice lady

...you can't unread something.. therefore you can't ignore what's being said. The more appropriate way is to put the continuing annoying poster on ignore... then you never get to see another one of their posts...
I dont know why but some people always annoy me with what they say and thats where I gotta put them on ignore. Its a great feature because it guarantees me a positive experience on the forum.
