DH just told me he has someone coming over at 3:30 to look at and perhaps buy dining room bench and table! (y)
We are asking $900. and the man wanted to offer DH $750.

DH won't bargain until people see why it is a very good deal at just $900. Is one of those keeper items that grows in value, and a bargain. From Copenhagen furniture. Made in Germany, great engineering.

I told DH to show him our couch, too a leather Natuzzi, with electric reclining. I want two very comfy leather couches arranged in a face to face with a coffee table in between the two couches and no TV in the main living area...and the two couches deep enough to be single sleeping for sons or grand kids if and when they come visiting and guest room otherwise occupied.

No kids or pets on this used furniture, either. We really only selling these pieces because we can't move them ourselves and they worked well in our other home, but this home not so well.

As we age, we are figuring out having to hire someone to rearrange or move our furniture is crazy expensive. It cost me $200 to just move my 1901 roll top accounting desk to storage it was to big for sitting room - took up way to much space, in this home, but was fine in our last home. Price on it too high for most people, and if it never sells one of the four kids will want it if I croak, maybe...

Will be driving about 25 miles from this Motel 6 in an hour to a ski resort parking lot at 7.5k, so time to get moving. Sunny day, minor breeze and a cold 26F max early afternoon. Only my day 10 this winter.

Although I won't be exposing other aspects of my life like the YouTube channel with my skiing, on this board, I may post something on a large file website others given a link could download from. Use It or Lose It.

Well, the engineer didn't arrive...I've just spent 20 minutes on the phone talking to 3 different people trying to get it sorted. seems that it was all booked in but it wasn't assigned to any engineer...

I am honestly fed up with the ineptitude...in this country.. I told them, if someone doesn;t turn up for the new appointment, I'm cancelling my account !

further to that, the pharmacist who text me today to say they needed to call me this afternoon at 3.45...did not call...instead I got a text an hour later saying they'd prescribed my meds as usual...

arrggghhhh!!!:eek::eek:

After a wet start this morning we caught the bus and walked up the hill to Castelo de São Jorge by which time the clouds had gone and Mr Blue Sky was with us again. We caught the famous No28 Tram from there to the other side of this part of Lisbon and had a good walk about before heading back to the hotel for a rest before we head out for a nice evening meal. Only one full day left before we head home on Thursday. Tomorrow’s plan is to catch the train and a coach to Sintra and Pena Palace.

That sounds so frustrating! I get very irritated with situations like that, e.g., something being booked but not assigned to a specific person. Grrr.

In the morning... I plan to rule the world... but coffee first.

Your comment reminded me of a little poem I wrote when I was about 21.

Rotten Shame

Galls me, all this socializing,
Amateur philosophizing.
Non conformists, so they say.
Look alike in every way.

Barkeep didn't catch my wink.
Guess I'll have another drink.
Surely fills my heart with sorrow.
Think I'll change the world tomorrow.

Home from doc. Interested to find out blood results, in comparison to last time. Also got echo cardiogram. Not worried about that, I have a strong heart. I do think I will reach my goal of living at least another 12 years so I can see my GS as a man ❤️

🐈 🐈‍⬛ always glad when I get home!

Been doing an online search for hubby's old truck,, with no results.

He's been out. & about , has had some luck in finding one place that had it.
But sounds like the guy didn't want to 'cut' it off the junk truck.

Of course I thought hubby would be gone All Day.
Comes home for lunch & ended up with scabbed eggs, bacon & toast.

Fixed myself some egg and bread & tomato .

Now to get back to tax figures. :cautious:

Went early this morning for a blood test. I've delayed it at least two weeks - was awaiting a day when I happened to sleep until at least 6:30 AM because the lab opens at 8:00. It wasn't an urgent test, and I definitely didn't want to go several waking hours without my coffee, which I drink with non-dairy milk and a little sugar.

Plain herbal tea is ok for fasting tests, so it stepped in as a substitute this AM. There was zero drama with the blood draw; ten minutes between the time I parked and when I was back in my car.

Came home and dove into my coffee. Love morning coffee, even though I've moved to decaf. With luck, I'll be able to sneak a little caffeine back into my diet soon. Eliminating caffeine is often effective at reducing my preventricular contractions (AKA an unsettlingly wonky but not dangerous heart arrhythmia).

Washing my long hair in winter to being of the house before 8:00 is an undertaking. Just blow drying it to almost dry takes forever. Dentist, Walmart, bank. My truck did not start at UPS. A young lady jumped to the rescue when she saw me fighting with the hood in the cold wind. I was exhausted and starved. Izzy told me that I do not have to go out again today.

I had long hair until last Friday; well it is still to my shoulders but he cut off 10"; just got sick of blow drying; my arms were not long enough anymore. :ROFLMAO: That was the longest I've ever had my hair, down past my bra strap in the back and it was also constantly getting stuck between my back and the car seat or any high back chair for that matter.

Where do you live that it takes forever to dry?

After a serious trim it is still past my waist. In winter I cannot go with wet hair as it gives me head aches. So 40-45 minutes of bending over and just blow drying. Summer is no problem - it is hot and windy in Oklahoma:>)

I have been so bored! I hate this time of year when it’s so cold and dreary. I’m tired of movies, books and podcasts.
I guess I should be thankful that nothing bad is going on here.
It’s supposed to snow anytime now…
Gee, you stole my post! LOL

I'm south of you (Silver Spring), we've been having snow for a while now. I'm with you on the bored and tired of this time of year. In the summer I look forward to the long winter nights and reading and watching TV, but I'm now ready for winter to be over.

On the hopeful side...I saw a lot of robins on my walk (just before the snow), so spring is coming! I also saw tiny shoots of daffodils (or maybe hyacinths?).

Boredom is one of the reasons why I still go to work, although my work is not exactly nine to five, it's more now and then, when needs must. Today my services at work were not required, still up early though, come six am and I can't sleep, no point staying in bed.

My lady had a check up appointment this morning. Her heartbeat is getting into the correct rhythm, that is, more beats per minute than previously. Her check ups are essential. Whilst she was out I managed to vacuum most of the place before her return. Got it finished whilst she enjoyed a hot drink and a slice of apple pie.

At present my wife is busy in her cabin, I know that there's a pair of summer white trousers in the pipeline. To give her more time I told her that I would be making her a cottage pie this evening. It's a favourite of her's, so much so that I make enough for four and we have the leftovers tomorrow.

The courier company text me with the driver's estimated arrival time, he would be bringing my new blazer. And on time it arrived.

Preparing the evening meal kept me busy most of the afternoon, then I had a series of phone calls. My landline phone can be silent for days and then for some unexplained reason, every now and then, it seems to ring off the hook. One of those calls was a Big Band dance in March, I shall have to see how the lady fares before considering that.

Work rang, I shall be going in on Thursday, they want me in at nine. Later work called again about company insurance. The insurers have no objection to my age as long as I am cleared by a doctor, something that I do every year. I have a check up booked for March 17th.

My lady gave me Brownie points for the cottage pie, she is back in her cabin, you can see those trousers, along with my new blazer, when she has finished them.
