A Hundred Year Old Photograph...

It won't let me see it unless I sign into ancestry...:cautious:

You know it's a bit of a wakener when you think, 100 years ago was only the 1920''s the year many of our parents were born

I never saw any photographs of my mother or father as children.... My mother saw one of my father as toddler he was born in 1926.. and she said he was wearing a dress.. my granny said all babies regardless of their sex wore dresses in the the beginning of last century

This is a hundred year old photograph + 25 years of my mother's mother's brothers and one sister. My grandmother is on the left in the back row. There were 15 kids born to the family. This was taken at a funeral. I think my grand uncles are excellent looking and right at home in those fine suits.

Dusty, maybe you could copy & past the photo? Like Holly said, the Ancestry photo is behind a sign-in wall.

This photograph was taken in 1922, making it 102 or 103, years old. It's the then, Hollywood Royalty: Douglas Fairbanks Jnr. and his wife, Mary Pickford. His shoes are like nothing that you ever see nowadays, but I know a very talented Cordwainer. How often I hear: "Where did you get your shoes?"

My maternal grandmother, circa 1920; check out that hairdo! :ROFLMAO:
(Picture is not very clear, but neither is the original.)

You know I've seen your shoes many times here and I love them which you already know ..I have a passion for Brogues... and with the beautiful colours just gorgeous , but would you be willing to say how much a hand made pair costs from the Cordwainers ?

I'm interested because not only for my love of those.. but Cobblers were my paternal families trade going right back to great grandparents.. not quite Cordwainers but stll very interetsed in shoes and shoemakers...

she looks young, how old would she have been in this picture.? I'm guessing she was the same age as my granny who was born in 1900
Yours and mine weren't far apart. Mine was born in 1903. I never forgot the year of her birth because she lived in the country off county road 1903. ;)

I always thought men's black & white summer shoes were very smart looking. It's rare to see them in modern times. Perhaps if they made them in canvas?......šŸ˜„
