The FAA and the NTSB are assisting in the investigation. My only hope is that none of these investigators come up with “Pilot Error.”
I was wondering how long before the Delta landed did another plane land in front of it and if it was a large plane like the Triple 7 would it have been possible for the larger plane to have created a wake that caused a phenomenon like a wind tunnel to occur, especially since the wind was already above normal expectations.
It’s just difficult to say, but I think the weather will be a factor somehow. I also think for pilots it’s kind of fun to take this apart and come up with possibilities. I could be blowing smoke, but like people do, some of us try to come up with a solution. For me, it’s just fun to attempt to take a stab at an answer.
I took into consideration that Runway 2-3 goes east to west and that the wind at the time of the accident was 270 degrees (W) @27kts. gusting to 35. That’s significant, but pilots train for landing with these types of winds.
