How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

I haven’t actually priced eggs in weeks.. with all I’ve been hearing, eggs are off the menu for a while. Recipes with eggs get an immediate swipe…. Good thing I don’t have to mess with an egg hunt this Easter

Today has been semi-relaxed compared to the last couple days of working. I’ve knitted, had devotions, several cups tea/coffee, had my hair trimmed, put a book on hold at the library and picked up forms to renew my passport

The rest of today will feature some computer work, a quick trip to grocery store and visiting Ed. I might even wedge a nap in there somewhere.

A semi disastrous day. I thought that I'd really messed up my laptop. I had downloaded a film in MP4 format, but I hadn't loaded a suitable player, so I thought I'd switch to the evil Windows. It wouldn't play the file, and then it started giving messages about updates. I wasn't having any of that, so I tried to switch back to Ubuntu. No luck - it kept booting up windows, go it had obviously corrupted the boot file. I had to go into the setup and restore the boot menu. Seems OK now, but I won't go near windows again and I've loaded VLC player.

When I get a new laptop, I was thinking about wiping Windows completely, but I was wondering if that might affect the warranty.

yes it does invalidate the warranty from what I understand ..on a PC...

Why not just get a MAC.. ?

If it was the same price as a Dell etc, then I might consider it.
which do you mean, laptop or computer ?... I have no idea how much a dell is... My Mac all in one desktop, with the 27 inch screen cost about £1000 6 or so years ago.... but the peace of mind you get with a mac makes up for any difference in price between Mac and Microsoft...

I think you might be suprised if you shop around...

24F. So cold. Going out for a few things I missed last time. Milk for coffee, bleach, etc. Sun is out anyway.

DS was here after work for a visit; picked up doggie's frozen
poop out back for me. It's so icy here.

Hope everyone has a fun day.

It is sleeting here, soon to be ice. I'm making a wreath from faux cypress swags I got for 80% off. They were with the Christmas pine ones. I thought they didn't necessarily look like Christmas. They have delicate fronds and I think they could be made into a summer into fall wreath. I'm deciding if I want to add some delicate flowers and/or what color. Maybe dark salmon would take it through fall or lavender ? 🤔 or none.

Egg hunts? That's what the bag of gawdy plastic eggs in my attic are for. 😋

I like the portability of a laptop, but looking at Mac prices, I'd be reluctant to spend that much for a new one. I have seen refurbished ones at a more realistic price, but they didn't give the specification for things like USB, HDMI, internet etc..

I wanted to make meatball soup for supper tonight because it's cold and damp and dreary, but don't have the right veggies, and there's no way on God's green earth that I'm going back out in this craptacular weather. Instead it's going to be spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs have been browned and are simmering in spaghetti sauce as we speak.

I'd really rather have meatball soup:(

Went to Costco yesterday and lightened my wallet by a bit. It was time though - it's been a while since my last visit and I was running low on tofu, frozen berries, coffee, power greens, and shelf stable supply of almond, oat and soy milks. Some of the necessities of life for those eating a whole food plant based diet.

Woke up at the crack of dark this morning - 3:30 AM - and couldn't go back to sleep. My crystal ball predicts a nap this afternoon.

For now, I'm hanging around the computer waiting for one of my banks to chat with me - haven't received my 1099 (tax) form yet, and it's not available for online downloading. Already 30 minutes into the wait, but you nice people at SF have been keeping me company on monitor #2, so I can't say I'm irritated with the bank.

Glad to have handled grocery shopping, food prep and cooking yesterday so today can be a lazy day.

I clearly pushed myself too far in the 3 hours I was out, obviously not fully recovered from the lurgy...

I had some of my home cooked lentil soup.. just a tiny bowl.. and then fell asleep again sitting upright on the sofa.. for 4 HOURS..:eek:

It'll probably mean being up most of the night now given I didn't wake up until after 10pm... and I have a zoom meeting with my lawyer in the morning , so I have to be on the ball (le sigh)...as the sainted @Georgiagranny would say :sneaky:

Be careful @hearlady on that ice please!
I like the idea of dark salmon, btw.

I woke up from what was essentially a nap around 1 a.m. I'm used to being up doing stuff around that time. I tried to go back to sleep and by 1:30, realized that wasn't going to happen. So I got up, scooped the litter box, swept and Swiffered the kitchen and bathroom floors and got the garbage ready for my son to take out before he ,eft for work. After he left at 3:45, I played a couple of games on my phone, watched something on my tablet and dozed off. The alarm woke me up for making wudu (ritual washing before prayers). I almost talked myself into going back to sleep...I really wanted to....but I did not. I always feel better when my day starts with prayer(s).

After I ate breakfast (around 6:30), I fell asleep again and woke up around 10, took a call from my BFF, then got changed to go down to the laundry room just before 11:30. No one was down there...I like it like that. I intended to wet Swiffer at some point today, but that did not happen because laundry day makes me tired. Hopefully I'll get to it tomorrow.
