Hi Hollydolly,as for a person who doesn't; drive, I have a non driver's license which I renew every 5 yrs Sue
a non-drivers' licence,? as far I'm aware we have no such thing here...Sue...

We have driving a driving licence which is issued to us when we pass our test whatever age, and that stays with us until we're 70.. and then we have to have a renewed licence whch only has a lifespan of 3 years before it has to be renewed again.. and again ..and again every 3 years.. seems crazy to me.

My new licence arrived this morning, it's identical to the one I currently have had for decades... no difference at all except it's only vaild for 3 years..so strange ! I get to use it when I turn 70...

On my early walk this morning at 6:40,it was lightly snowing temp was 18,like yesterday couldn't;t walk around the building due to the ice.I did the same routine around the driveway and sidewalks that were mostly cleared
I've invited Don &his partner Dave for lunch today at 12:15, they've been over here a couple times since I moved in, last time was in Nov. I talk to Don every couple of weeks,to hear what's happening at Tudor Plaza{where I use to live}.look forward to seeing them
I'm having dinner again with Connie and 2 other residents I like a lot Jim&his partner Gene, both who also warmly welcomed me when I first moved here
Tonight, I'll be watching USA vs Canada championship hockey game in Boston of the '4 Nations Hockey Tournament.I watched part of the 1st game{missed the fights} was an exciting game to watch I'm rooting for USA to beat them again

It is miserably cold out there but sunny. Weather man is talking about records back to 1891. Do not touch the outside door handles with bare hands! SO laid a path with shop rugs to the hot tub for me last night.

Done with cookies. Now I need to package them in zip locks with pretty bows then in sturdy small boxes with names. Then it is time to cleanup the battle field:)

Tile guy should be here later for estimates. Is my truck ready?

Izzi is curled up on a hot spot in front of the fire place. Birds are hungry.

Let's make it a good day and start it by checking on our elderly friends. Kansas is not a place to be right now!

@hollydolly A "non-driver's" license is merely an ID card. It has "Identification Only" printed across the front.

I love scones. They are a blankety-blank nuisance to make.

Scones are baking. Laundry is laundering.

And just as I said that, the timer sounded. Scones done. I want one right now, but they're too hot :(

It's...sNOwing!! What the what? Nobody mentioned that word. Meteorologist. Next life. Meteorologist.

Remember I told you about our favorite McD's lady? Tomorrow is her last day there:(. She was offered another job at $3/hr more, so a 40-hour week will pay her $120/week more than McD's. She's the sole support of kids/g'kids so that $120 will make a big difference. And remember I said I hope McD's appreciates her as much as her customers do? Apparently they don't:mad:

it's always the way, in private and business, the more you do for people the less you're appreciated.. £120 a week is a mssive increase for somone on a very low income, probably still won't be enough for her to pay everything without robbing paul to pay pete sometimes, but it's a decent injection.. I hope she doesn't haven't to pay much more tax on it...

I've just finished my zoom meeting with my lawyer which went on much longer than expected.. an hour and 20 minutes...

Really emotionally exhausting... :(
Great news! Happy for you. :)

EDIT: My bad! LOL -- I read, "...much better than expected."
Well, I hope good things come from it.

Same old stuff, just a different day.

@ Holly,, we have 2 Hudsons,, a truck & a car.
Think they are 1940s?

Before oldest son got a job,, he tore the truck apart.
We did get the frame painted with some. sort of under coating.

Then son's new job took him out of state.
Not long after that my FIL moved the truck in pieces to the garage on our rental property.

It has sat there for years,,not sure if it could be resorted.

I told son it's up to you to advertise it,,, see if anyone wants them.

We would lie to sell that property,, this year.

A new light layer of snow in the last couple days. Temp hovering around 0*C (32F), forecast is for intermittent rain today.

Yesterday morning I had dental surgery. The dentist is very good, and a quite likable guy. The usual weeping of blood during the rest of the day, captured in gauze packing. Dosing with naproxen & acetaminophen every 4 hours, and swelling decreased. Though increased a bit during night sleep, so I dosed again at about 1:30am.

Today I go in for a follow-up. I'll be drinking a lot of my food for several days. I look forward to eating normally again! Wishing everyone a good day.✋

Good morning, all. Feb 20th already!

Sorry to those suffering with cold weather and ice across most of the US. Lovely here. A bit windy, but a high of 78° and low of 54°, so no complaints. We'll be into the 80s next week before dropping back down to highs in the 70s & 60s. Most winters bring similar warm spells our way.

Need to do some housework today. Mop the floors, throw some laundry in the machines - that kind of work. Nothing complicated or strenuous. Roomba is already doing its thing, bless its little robotic heart.

Awe, I miss my Roomba; that thing was so cute.

Very windy here today.

I grocery-shopped, pushed the cart into the metal holding area in the parking lot and started to get in my car…. Watched my cart slowly back out of the pen, pirouette like a figure skater, and started across the parking lot.

Caught it in time lol. 🛒

Feeling pretty chuffed right now. I wanted a change of furniture but wasn't prepared to pay for new things. I popped into a charity shop and bought some really good items at a very decent price. Not only have I got some nice new things but the charity benefited too.

always wake earlyish and mumble round - black coffee obligatory - used to feed the dog but he died recently - still grieving but considering meeting a rescue dog or try out loan dog? - we'll see - no rush ; no push! get organized for a morning shopping compliments of HAACS and PO visit obligatory in case I've won lot of money? always dress smartly to show I am functioning OK? I can order daily hot lunch but prefer to do my own camping about?

must have hit the sack after a hot enjoyable lunch and a beer and woke at 8.30pm amazed - more beer and food and an evening with the stars on tv whoever they are? will be up till midnight - I like the evenings entertainments!! - one old friend on FB told me to forget the past just get on with what ya got left?? - I feel I can make 90 easily maybe 100 - see ya at the other end!

I have been having back and sciatica problems for about 3 weeks now .very painful and hard to get around. went on front porch to get walmart delivery and fell on my back on the ice barely missing.my head on the rail. one shoe landed in the yard. I thought oh no I really did.it now! did not feel any pain though. put groceries in the house. thinks the pain will come.later. nope after 3 days later my pain actually lessen. and to day hardly any pain at all! must have hit the right spot that was.one of the worse falls I have ever had.

sounds like the fall put everything back to where it was before it all went out and caused all the pain... excellent news....

just keep rollin with the punches - i was once told by a professional wrestler that most people injure themselves more in falls cos they tense up - ya got relax and roll with the falls- I always do and have only ever received minor scratches?
