How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

I finished up the laundry I intended to do for the week. I was on the phone for a couple of hours today. I got calls from my granddaughter, my son, BFF and two other friends. Plus I had to call my insurance company because I needed to verify that my ultrasound, done routinely after a mammogram at the center I got to, would be covered without a script from my doctor. And it is covered.

I rearranged some things in the storage closet, put the machines away, Swiffered and dusted in the bedroom. I also caught up with posts here and on Facebook. I even managed to watch a couple of TV shows and play my games. It was such a busy day that I didn't take a proper nap, just dozed off for a couple of minutes.
You sure were busy!!!! I don't accomplish that much in a whole week!!

Good Morning, Everyone

Today is looking good so far: husband is off so, yay!
Going to be another nice day with a high of 61F/16C! The dog walks should be pleasant. :)
I need to do some laundry today, usual household chores and walk the dog twice. Other than those, we'll see how the day unfolds.
Yesterday, I finished my little Macrame project. :)

I love that!

Our garden is full of life and beauty.

Hawks are nesting in our tall Eucalyptus Trees, and I see them soaring in the sky every day. I am listening to three noisy Blue Jays
arguing in our Tamarisk Tree, and I hear woody woodpecker searching somewhere for worms. They are easier to hear than to see.
Hummingbirds come and sip at our sugar water feeders every few minutes, while other birds are picking seeds from different feeders.

We have a mini heat wave. Every day in the 80's and tomorrow it's supposed to be 90. What will the summer be, again 120F?

Pictures: OK, the garden is not in the best shape, but it will again be shining when my wife hopefully retires soon from work.
Right now unwanted Palm Trees are growing in her flower pots.

All pix were taken within the last hour.

For years ... years ... my 22yr old Jeep with only just over 61K on the clock, has gotten terrible ... terrible ... gas mileage and the automatic transmission was surging and shifting hard into some higher gears.

I couldn't figure out what was going on. I swapped out sparkplugs, changed oil and air filter. Even drained and installed new transmission fluid and transmission filter. Didn't help.

A couple of days ago, the Jeep finally threw a Check Engine Light (CEL) on the dashboard. Turned out the fault code was a P0455 ...

"P0455 is an OBD-II diagnostic trouble code that indicates a major leak in the evaporative emission control (EVAP) system, which is responsible for preventing gasoline vapors from escaping into the atmosphere. Common causes include a loose or damaged fuel cap, damaged hoses, or other issues within the EVAP system."

So I crawled around all over the vehicle and FINALLY located a ruptured rubber hose near the gas tank and replaced it.

Today, the Jeep is running the best it has in I can't remember when ... years ... and the automatic transmission shifting is no longer an issue what so ever. The Jeep runs and shifts as good or better than it EVER has. Not only that but my miles per gallon has jumped up 4miles more to the gallon and now getting the gas mileage it did 22yrs ago when I drove off the Jeep dealer's lot with a brand spanking new Jeep.

My Jeep is happy ... I'm thrilled. Even have some left over rubber hose should another need arise.

Still NO idea how the EVAP system affects the automatic transmission but just glad replacement of a ruptured rubber hose fixed it.
