What shoes do you wear daily?

Whenever I go outside, I wear my New Balance walking sneakers
Inside my new apt which is all carpeted, I wear the sneakers or open toed slippers
@moviequeen1,

I’m curious about your choice for winter walking.

I’ve been searching for something light weight with a good tread for daily use in the city slush, ice, etc…

I’m leaning towards some type of high top canvas hiking/trail shoes with a vibram tread but I would appreciate your opinion.

Thanks,

B

I love the look of those shoes @Pinky. I can't wear backless, my heels would end up on the floor. I have very flat feet. Copperfit Arches have helped me tremendously!

Because of this condition, I can't wear the same shoes two days in a row. I ruin the shape of the shoe, so must let shoe rest. My feet so flat, the left turns my foot & leg inward.
I can relate to this, since I've flat feet too. I got my first insoles at age 6 and wear them every day. If I can't use insoles for some shoes I wear similar arch supports. They are elastic and also have a pad under the forefoot for extra support.

Laceless ones are so comfy and easy. Yet it is a personal preference. I just live in them.

One of my sons bought me a pair of these:

Kujo Yard Shoe | Kujo Yardwear
The comfort of a shoe, with the toughness of a boot. Water‑resistance to keep you dry in the morning dew, with breathability for the hot afternoon sun.

I only wear them for lawn work now, though when new I wore them more often. Now I'm stretching their life by wearing things like driving shoes other times:

Simple and smart, this loafer made of soft leather features a classic moc toe and a segmented driving sole that puts traction under every step.

I have about 6 pair of slides I alternate. That's my number 1 choice to wear to almost everywhere I go. There are exceptions.

I wear easy spirit as I find them to be good quality and very comfortable. I never understood some people’s shoe obsession. I own 6 pairs which is plenty.

In summer I wear boat shoes or Sperry sneakers. In winter I wear clunky, vibram soled Merrill shoes which lift you up out of the snow and slush. Nice loafers to church, and old black lace-up shoes to funerals, which are becoming more and more frequent. I do want to try some slip-on Skechers.

Photographed alone the shoes don't have the same appeal that they have when wearing them with the right outfit. Mind you, when Colin text me the blue and white shoes that Holly admired, I just had to have them.

I’m all ears when it comes to a good comfortable pair of shoes! I have tried many different brands over the years. The shoes that felt good and supportive on my feet always end up getting discontinued after a while. I have high arches and Plantar fasciitis. PF comes and goes on both of my heels. Thankfully, both feet do not suffer from PF at the same time! It generally takes me a good year to heel the PF, when I do get it.

On a different note---I know a lot of people see no problem with the style of the shoes but I dislike the athletic shoes that are bright awful colors with big chunky ugly white soles. I want my shoe and my shoe soles to match.

I don’t have any weather issues to deal with on my walks daily.

I own Skechers GOwalk slip-ins. My favorite year round.

…… mine are a light beige/pink color - go with everything.

Me too. I don’t like white soles on black runners. Nor do I like really large soles on shoes. I think they make my feet look large, which they definitely aren’t.

Yesterday, since most of the snow is gone, I switched to my runners. I decided I’d rather wear my winter boots because I hate tying up shoelaces. I put my boots back on today. I’m lazy.

Dansko Vibram waterproof for winter, wet weather. A great shoe. I have three pair in two colors as I rotate shoes frequently. Can wear them with jeans or shorts.
Dansko professional clogs for easy slip ons and with longer jeans; have two pair, one brown leather, one a black with a silver plant print pattern I get compliments on each time I wear them to the grocery story.
Wear only higher end Aspics for walking as I walk nearly 4 miles a day when on a roll.
Wear Birkenstocks while inside at home or in wet garden as they offer them in a really nice "cushy" plastic now; I can just throw those in washer with towels or in the dishwasher to keep them clean for the house.
Wear leather, three strap Birkenstocks with cork soles during warm weather.

I wish that I could find some safe winter walkers that have a better grip on icy pavement!

I’ve been staying in more and more this winter rather than risk a fall.

Any ideas?

I got a pair of Kytin Parasole Wool Barefoot Shoes as a present last year. They're like wearing a pair of socks with a thin sole. The sole is rubber and flexible but actually has some support.

I simply cannot walk around much without shoes but can wear these for hours.
