Good morning (I think--kind of bleary)

I am clinging to my coffee cup like a shipwrecked sailor clings to a floating plank... eek I am so tired after working two days, then got woke up before 6am. I want to go to Ash Wednesday service this AM and I have a chiropractor appt. right after that. Also still gotta do a couple things for patients that couldn't be done yesterday...

There is definitely a nap in my future this afternoon. Til then, coffee Do Your Magic!
I am thankful I get sleep but in your case since you work not as easy . Naps are great .

I fell asleep last night at 11 pm got up at 8:30 am and only because at 11 am going to do some local plumbing but if not would have slept 11 hours and drinking my coffee now because sleep and all a zombie without it .

I get 9 to 10 hours sleep daily and yes love it .

Ash Wednesday. Good morning. No tornadoes here during the night, just lots of rain and wind. It moved fast @hearlady so maybe you'll be as lucky as we were.

DD is taking me to the garden center again this morning because I need about 12-15 more dianthus and want to get them while they're still $1 each.

I also need a couple of packets of cosmos seeds. I plan to spread them and some zinnia seeds in a big area, about 10ft x 15ft where there's nothing growing. They'll be pretty, and it's cheaper than bedding plants. If they're scattered today, they should give us flowers by Easter.

The monkey grass is still waiting for me...

@hawkdon You still got it wrong. It's sNOw, not sNoW. Tsk, tsk.

Oh, look! The sun came out☀️. Yay.
I love zinnias as easy come in amazing colors but for some reason even though I water alot never had any cosmo seeds grow .

In Georgia your soil is very good but as you know in Florida it is terrible mostly sand , rocks and some soil so I only use pots .

I plant a lot of zinnia and marigolds .

Good Morning, Everyone 🤗 :coffee: 🌻
It's going to be warm, but rainy here today. Thankfully, I don't mind the rain really, though I do feel for the dog today; his walks might not be so fun for him. I'll try to share my umbrella.

Boyfriend is back from his visit in London so we will hang out today, which is comfortable; things as they should be in the rhythm of my days.

@Pepper, I hope you get your second wind.
@hearlady, I think we are expecting the same storm.
@Pappy, Hoping you continue to feel better after your ordeal. ❤️
@Georgiagranny, You are making me want to plant now instead of waiting until the Equinox as I normally do.

True..... that's unfortunately very true... however you have to be pleased we don't carry guns... :ROFLMAO:
One joke which I no longer do as could get badly hurt is I imply that you gals in the UK love your new Duchess Meghan Markle as much as she is loved here in the states by America's women , this is way to dangerous a line because whether women from UK or here that is not the case and yes it was fun to do a few times with tourists due to the reaction but yes at same time I also regretted it , lol

@moviequeen1 I'm not gonna plant the dianthus that I just bought because it's too cold...55 and overcast.

@Trila You didn't mention Goob so I wasn't really sure if he'd get to go out to play. I'm glad poor kitty isn't being neglected;)

@NotCompSavvy Our Georgia red clay isn't exactly what we'd call flower friendly, but after years of digging in new garden soil, it's better than most have. I mix up the zinnia and cosmos seeds and just scatter them, water, let 'em alone. It's called benign neglect:). Just remember to water from the bottom and not too often so the leaves don't get all brown and yucky while they're still blooming.

@Medusa Definitely wait! You don't wanna go to all the trouble of planting and having your efforts destroyed by a late frost.

@hollydolly I'm not exactly wishing rain on you, but won't it be nice that when the next rain starts you won't have to rush around in your barn covering stuff to keep it dry? Did you ever find someone who'd empty out the stuff you can't get to and haul it away? If not, how about the handyman who did the roof?

No I don't want anything taken from the barn the stuff I want rid of is in the loft...I'll need to get a loft clearance company simply because ......there's no garbage it's just all very heavy boxes, impossible for me to get down...

The stuff in the barn is all expensive tools belonging to him.. who has had amnesia BTW.. when my lawyer told his lawyer that this stuff was waiting for him.. he had no idea what i could be talking about... so there you go ( that was in the email I got this morning ) ... they're all mine..

however I did mention all the tools in the barn to the handyman, and he agreed with me that trying to sell them will be hard because everyone wants something for nothing. I did give hima brand new industrial fan and he said he would keep it but if ever I needed it he would let me have it back.. but I won't need it..... Anyway now I am able to take all the covers off the workbench etc, I can get in there and get it all sorted.. I kinda semi promised some of it to my neighbour..

Today has been a very eclectic day... emails from the lawyers saying that with luck this Divorce might actually be done before the end of march, so we'll see.. However I had to shell out even more money to my lawyer who right now is in the USA on holiday... very pleased that she's having a good time on my money

The I had to go to the bank..everyone was out because it's such a beautiful day.. but really I am convinced no-one goes to work any more either that or this island is so overcrowded . I didn't stay in town, I drove over to the garden centre ...

very quiet there so it was a pleasure to have a look around. altho' the cafe was very busy I stopped there and had a coffee..

then had a little look in the farm shop , bought some chcolates for my neighbour as a thank you or the pancakes last night... then had a wander around the garden centre...

this gander and his very pregnant missus...her belly was so low it walmost dragging on the ground

I moved whatever I could from last nights storms. Some stuff is just too heave and will have to wait until SO comes home.

Cleaned out the fridge.

Got everything ready for pound cake which is one of the few sweets I crave. One Christmas cookie out of a 2500 production. Give me something fruity!

Ate lunch at 11:00. I was starved!

Izzi refuses to eat. She has those days and they make me edgy. She is at the limit of being under weight. Probably due to her being almost starved to death with two pounds at 6 months when she found us. Tiny portions and about every three hours. Yes, this includes night shift but she is worth it.

Sunny, windy and cold. Still polar fleece weather but I got a pair of sparkly favorite earrings out. Got to start somewhere:>)

Went looking for rodeo wear as I need a top for a "you have to go" event in October. Sticker shock! That will involve some planing.

@NotCompSavy I just figgered out why you can't grow cosmos. Actually, it was my mother's reason behind anything that didn't work the way it was supposed to. She always said it's because you don't hold your mouth right. Unfortunately, she up and died, she did, and never told me the right way. If she had, I'd tell you ;)
'' you don't hold your mouth right''

People often tell me this so makes sense and not one cosmo seed ever have I been able to get going ..

S I G H ???
Sat down to catch up with what is happening with everyone..........fell a sleep!

Did get some home made dog food made for Mac.

Hubby surprised me by suggesting we get another dog!

We have been looking at all the Boston Terrier puppies on Facebook.

I'm game for another dog,, BUT prefer an older female.
Most of the dogs we see or think about aren't close by.

I don't see getting another dog happening.

Ignore them. I am serious. Sprinkle them out and give them a drink of water from time to time. Lots and lots of sun please.

I diligently collected zinnia seed in 2023. Cardboard boxes wet cat food comes in are great for collecting and drying seeds. I mind my happy business and see something furry and dark move in my box. There is an Olympic disciplin called box throwing! Not a multi legger but a big fat bumble bee. Needless to say we had zinnias galore in 2024. I am arachnaphobic to the point of hysterics. Yes!

It is a rather blah day here today. It has been VERY windy and gray out for the past few days with 40 plus mph gusts. The weather guessers forecast more windy days for the next few days. Booooo! Hissss! :D I guess it is the March winds blowing. But.. everyday is a "good day" just to wake up.

Holly, Here one needs a permit from the City to hold a personal property sale.

If you have an open indoor space, say 1st floor of the barn, one could
rig up some shelves sitting on Cement blocks and do a Sale of the Tools and Stuff.
Mechanical or Carpenter they could fetch a tidy sum if they are in decent shape, not rusty.
Bring down an armload at a time, or rig a bucket with a rope to cut the stairs trips. A good
framing Claw Hammer costs $15 _ $30 +.

I did a Whole house indoor sale some15 years ago, sitting The 4 solid wood doors off their hinges on blocks with cloth.
The Home stuff, lights, chairs, beds, tables, pots and pans, dishes and spoons forks knives. 2 Snow Blowers, Mowers
Garden tools, Brought Near $8000. 2 Vehicles another $10,000. A Couple reliable friends could make it work.

That can make your move tolerable.

Sold the Brick home to relatives for $90,000. Only costs to me were setting up and trips to Goodwill with some ending donations.
4 X the Wife ran the cash to the bank so to cut down on robbery opportunity. Altheimer's here is nasty. My
Neighbors' wife died a year ago January from it. She could answer a question Yes / No. All else was bird talk.
We all found comfort in the thought she was an intelligent bird in another life.

That was not nice!

Woke up and did my usual tidying up chores around the house before I prepped myself for a job interview. Had an interview for a part time job that I want and need at this point. Aside from the dreary weather, being a bit tired and having some neck/shoulder pain, it has been a decent day so far.
