I went out to get a sandwich today and the place was busy but a woman came in with her son who I would say was about 3. He started yelling at the top of his lungs and went racing around the place bumping into people and opening bathroom doors and the door with people coming into the place making them stop to avoid knocking him over. All the time yelling loudly. Finally the mother yelled for him to stop and went over and spanked him and that made him cry. He then took off again, upsetting people at their tables. I was so glad to leave.

Holly, Here one needs a permit from the City to hold a personal property sale.

If you have an open indoor space, say 1st floor of the barn, one could
rig up some shelves sitting on Cement blocks and do a Sale of the Tools and Stuff.
Mechanical or Carpenter they could fetch a tidy sum if they are in decent shape, not rusty.
Bring down an armload at a time, or rig a bucket with a rope to cut the stairs trips. A good
framing Claw Hammer costs $15 _ $30 +.

I did a Whole house indoor sale some15 years ago, sitting The 4 solid wood doors off their hinges on blocks with cloth.
The Home stuff, lights, chairs, beds, tables, pots and pans, dishes and spoons forks knives. 2 Snow Blowers, Mowers
Garden tools, Brought Near $8000. 2 Vehicles another $10,000. A Couple reliable friends could make it work.

That can make your move tolerable.

Sold the Brick home to relatives for $90,000. Only costs to me were setting up and trips to Goodwill with some ending donations.
4 X the Wife ran the cash to the bank so to cut down on robbery opportunity. Altheimer's here is nasty. My
Neighbors' wife died a year ago January from it. She could answer a question Yes / No. All else was bird talk.
We all found comfort in the thought she was an intelligent bird in another life.
yes i've thought of this as well PT... .it's a good idea, but I'd need someone to come and help me,.. fotunately no permit needed here to sell personal property
All the tools are in almost mint condition, there's a lot of stuff that's never been opened..large boxes full of Plumbing parts electrical parts, etc...

I'll have to give it a lot of thought...

I wonder if the little boy was autistic? That sounds like those kinds of behaviors

Hope you get the job @UpstateGal. I wish I had a job, but the more time goes by, the less likely I am to even be able to work again. Heck, I get tired just planting a few flowers. 15 minutes in the garden means resting for 30 minutes:(
Thank you Georgiagranny. Don't be too hard on yourself. At least you're still trying to work in your garden in spite of needing the rest afterwards. I hope your gardening brings you great joy:)

It absolutely does! There are flowers in bloom now, and as the weather gets milder, there will be more. I can sit on the teeny, tiny patio or on my stool in the kitchen that looks out the back door and admire flowers already whenever the mood strikes :)

If you cannot train them cook at home please.

I had two major leaks during recent storms. Today the insurance guy and a roofing contractor came to assess the damage. They were here for quite a while drawing circles on the roof. The verdict is.... I get a new roof. One less worry. What a relief!
Please check for additional charges your insurance may cover. Residual may be the term. Your contractor will know.

Usually 2 can handle the sale, set up and run to the bank. One explains stuff, keeps things in order, one handles the cash, sets at a table with the cash drawer & takes the money /makes change.

yes this is how we do it when we hold a Car Boot sale..which is where we tke all our cars to a designated field , and set up a trestle table and sell as much as we could carry in our cars.... this type of thing...

..but the tools and the boxes of parts are just too heavy for me to try and lift to take to a boot sale...plus everyone wants something for nothing.....so it's all going to have to be sold or given away from here at the house...

Good morning Folkies... another stonkingly sunny blue skied day.... 🌞 🌞 🌞 🌞

I've got plans to go out today, but I don't know if I'll be able to...my back is crippling me today...

Did I tell you btw yesterday when I was in the Car Wash it broke down..... I'd just pulled in behind the car ahead, and the whole thing shuddered to a stop with the big brushes jammed over the guy in front... .
fortunately they got it working again after messing about with it for about 5 minutes.. but I've never had that happen before...
this was just after they got it going again... I had visons of being stuck in there for hours..there was a queue behind me. this ws the picture after they'd cleared it

So nice clean car, and this morning, I saw the birds had crapped on the roof....😩
Story of my life....🤣

It's morning again and cold again. The forecast says overcast today, but I can see that the clouds are moving out...let's hope they move out and stay out.

I'm trying to decide whether to suit up and brave the cold to get the dianthus planted or to wait until tomorrow when it's supposed to be somewhat warmer. Maybe it's too early to make decisions. Even though I've had my coffee, the cobwebs aren't all cleared away yet.

I'll just think about it for a bit.

Sure you don't want to babysit? They could pick you up and deliver. 👶
Or, drop off a ten year old to help in the garden while you "babysit". 👦😊

Edit: Nevermind. I saw Rae's post after yours. 😯

Maybe you could use the money you make from them for some type of nice vacation........on him. 🏝

I can not keep up with this thread! Miss a few days and you're completely out of the loop!

Son and I went to the Hong Kong Buffet for a pre-Lenten blow-out and I was repaid for my gluttony with food poisoning -- six hours of continuous trips to the bathroom and in bed all day yesterday. But today! I have the wonderful, euphoric feeling after being sick and completely purged!

It all just gave me extra sympathy for @Oldeagle66 and his nauseating infusion of chemo he's going through right now.

@dilettante said he had a bad dream about some woman on the internet who annoys him and I wanted to know if it was me. :D
He also asked if anyone drops in without calling these days and I think not. I hate that. I used to love it when friends dropped-in for a cup of tea and the latest news. Not having a cell phone I don't feel free to drop-in on friends who live close to where I'm shopping, either.

Have a good day everyone!

Worked at cutting cedar trees and dragging away the branches yesterday. My allergies are paying for it this morning.....can't wake up. Happens every time, with cedar.

I'm going to be very busy today, wether I wake up or not! Including the gym, I've 6 stops in town. My allergy pill is going to have to work miracles....

Some might find this interesting. Misa has been accepted for a medical test subject. She spends the night. She eats a specific diet. They test her. She arrives at 6:30 pm, spends the night, comes home at 1:00 pm the next day ( today ). She makes $250. She looks at the university paper when ever she wants to see if they need human guinea pigs. :)
