Next month, my Mom will be 93 years old. It's no secret that I think she is amazing....lives by herself, cooks, cleans, does laundry, and even drives!
For the most part, she is still walking pretty good, too! Once in a while her knees will bother her, so she keeps a cane by the door. Since she hardly ever needs it, I have never actually seen her use her cane.
Recently, her knees are getting more painful, and there are times when I think a walker would be handy. My Dad had a really nice walker that he got for free, from Hospice. The other day, I went looking for it, and I couldn't find it anywhere!
I know that she can get a used walker for free from the VFW or from the Salvation Army, but I think her insurance would cover a nice new one.
I have no idea how to go about getting this for her. Do I need to get something from her doctor? There are several medical supply stores in town that we could go to, but I want to make sure that it is covered by her insurance.
HERE IS MY QUESTION:
Can anyone tell me where to start, to get a walker for my Mom?
