One of our fanily's favorite game(s) was..

My parents didn't play games with us. They did play 42 (dominoes) with neighbors and when we became teens, we were taught how to play. It has become the game we still play when there are family gatherings, which is now rare.

I learned checkers as a kid in the ‘50s by watching the old timers sit and play every afternoon (except Saturday) in the back of one of the town’s barber shops. They bet a dime a game. One guy always put a visor on over his head and was quick to ‘shush’ anyone in a loud conversation; “Hey! Quiet down I’m trying to concentrate!”

The only games my father played with us was Monopoly and backgammon. I played
all kinds of board games with my sisters, like Candyland, Checkers, Sorry! Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, and Twister. We would get a new game almost every Christmas. Later, when I became a Mother, my husband and I would play Scrabble and Monopoly with our son, plus a few other board games. Just remembered, my husband taught my son chess, and after he passed away, my son taught me to play chess. I love that game.

I'm 90 and probably will die in 1 to 2 years. I like to play chess at Chess.com with opponents within 25 points of my rating for 30 minutes per person games. I also like to play Civilization VI when I start with 1 stone age warrior and build up over 5,000 years to hundreds of tanks and airplanes.

We played Careers until we figured out that if you went for "Space." you would probably win.

My father loved Mastermind. It was good for just two people.

Sorry, Monopoly, Risk, Uncle Wiggly.

We all went through a Trivial Pursuit phase till we had too many of the questions memorized.

My son and I still play Scrabble a few times a week.

Yeah! That's they way they spell it in Inept's fanily!

My brother was really good at Chess and if he was desperate for practice he would make me play with him. Then he'd get mad because I played so my pieces would be all arranged for a wedding. (The pawns were all bridesmaids.)

Ludo, dominoes, draughts, snakes and ladders. When I got a bit older I got into Scrabble, rummy and cribbage. I played Monopoly a few times but only when pressured into it. I really dislike that game and won't be coerced into it nowadays!

I still play Scrabble, cribbage and rummy regularly with youngest son and grandson, also some of the other games with youngest granddaughter when she comes to me after school. Then once a week I play Trivial Pursuit and/or other quiz based games with eldest son, his partner and granddaughters.

When I was a kid, long before computers, I liked to play Avalon Hill board games. My favorite was "Afrika Korp." One moved over the cardboard map and then used dice to see who won each individual combat.

I also played chess a lot. Our grade school and high school both had chess clubs where I always played my favorite game.
