Early A.M. after prayer time, I put away the items I bought from Dollar Tree Monday. I also did some reorganization in my walk in closet and found a place in one of the boxes to store more hard foam strips that were used as packaging in something I ordered awhile ago. I don't need them now, but at some point, I know I'll find uses for them. @Tish @StarSong

I walked to the supermarket to pick up a few items this morning, disinfected and put away the groceries that needed refrigeration. I bought a box of 24 Eggo waffles that were not on my list, but the sale price was good and I'd been wanting waffles for awhile. I surprised myself by finding 2 spots in the freezer for them that will allow me to still have room for what my son will bring from Costco this week. I did not have room for the box. I also put away the refrigerator items my son brought from Shoprite this afternoon, again having to rearrange some things.

I had planned to revise my will and living will, fill out my BFFs HBD card then take out the recyclables and walk to the post office by 2:00 (when it's least busy), but my body said......

So I took a nap instead. 😴

Forgot to mention:

Husband and I took a scooter ride yesterday, visited a couple thrift stores, which was fun. :) I've been noticing, and mentioned to husband, that we get smiled at a lot. I get the distinct impression that people think we're cute, old couple on a scooter. Husband agrees that is what's happening. Kind of funny and I don't mind. It's nice to have people smile at you as you ride by.
It's likely because you look happy, it's good to see happiness in a world where life can often seem miserable. (y)

The Hovel is an absolute pigsty. So I was once a cleaning fairy. So?🧹 That was then, this is now. I'm firing myself in favor of finding somebody who'll keep up with barely 300sf on at least a weekly basis. Anybody know one who can spare 20-30 minutes once a week?

Just for a point of reference, I used to design digital long distance telephone circuits, too, but I don't do that anymore, either.

You gotta know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em, know when to walk away. Right?

A typical Wednesday morning. Tai Chi class 10:30-12pm then a not usual Wednesday afternoon. I drove down to the old home town and did the official new Mayor's portrait in her 'Mayor's Parlour'. This will be a big framed print in that space on the wall in the centre of the oak thingie. Also other formal shots for various uses. Leaflets, website profiles etc. Some on her own and some with her husband. Here's the setup - but I can't show you the actual photos until she's sworn in. That's the middle of May when I'll photograph the official 'Mayor Making Ceremony' with all it's pomp.

Looks like a funeral set up.

At ten o'clock this morning I shall be trying to convince my optician that my eyesight is in good working order. At the last visit the optician countered my insistence of good eyesight by asking me why I needed specs. Luckily my optician has a sense of humour. We had one of those spontaneous laugh outburst when I explained that my eyesight diminishes in old age to protect me from the shock as I walk past a mirror.

Morning all folks....yep it is 4am and I'm here already to start
the day!!! I believe I'll blame it on artritis....why not....it is 59deg
out there, hi to be around 80F today...no precip today I think
that comes tomorrow...no plans for the day at this odd hour yet...may just do a lot of laydowns!!!

Yes they do. When I was buying regular Cremora (or Coffee Mate) and Nesquick too, I'd get those large containers from Costco. Now I prefer sugar free hazelnut Coffee Mate (also powdered). I get a case of 6 from Amazon, sold in the regular size containers sold at supermarkets.
Fellow jar saver here! All my flours, and sugar, etc. are in the large coffee mate containers. They make great canisters.

And just so yanno, I don't make my bed anymore. It's too hard to do. Really is.

My excuse about the cleaning is that the vacuum scares Maggiecat.

ETA: Never mind. Nobody volunteered so I vacuumed. Maggiecat didn't like it.
You don't need to make your bed, but you could pull everything up before you get out of the bed, then tidy it around and put the pillows once you're up.

Morning folkies... I had a terrible nights sleep... I've got a chest infection , have had it for a couple of days now, and it stops me breathing for a second or 2 and makes me choke....really horrible.. so for the second night I was kept awake most of the night coughing and choking...🤒

My voice is very gravelly and about an octave deeper than normal.....

I can only think I must have picked something up in the crowds on Sunday at the Stately home...

Fortuntely I have nowhere I need to be today or the rest of the week...

Today my new keyboard is arriving so fingers crossed you will no longer be subjected to missed letters, and jumbled words...

have a better day everyone
Oh, I hate that for you! Getting sick is a PITA! I think you caught it from your computer. 🤔

@hearlady Yeah, that's what I do with the bed. It doesn't look great but it's good enough.

@hollydolly I bet you caught it from that darned keyboard! It's called keyboarditis but usually only affects the fingers. The fact that you've had it so long means that it has spread. (laughter is the best medicine...)

I got the bright idea of using the pill splitter on a benadryl tablet. Benadryl isn't a good idea for old folks because it's diphenhydramine and could contribute to dementia, but after enough sleepless nights, I don't give a rat's rear🐀 and don't take it very often. So if one is 25mg, then it's only 12.5mg when split. That means I'm only half as likely to get goofy.

Gotta don my glad rags and get out to the garden. Later...

Chaotic morning.

At about 7AM the company that is digging to remove and replace the old unsafe lead and galvanized and cast iron water supply pipes broke one up the block with their excavator causing a 30 foot tall plume of water resembling Old Faithful. The main valve had to be shut so right now no one on the block has water.

A couple minutes later the other crew working at the opposite end hit and broke a natural gas line. The volunteer fire department and utility company quickly responded. No evacuation orders have issued but the air is filled with mercaptain. A small army in 4-5 trucks with a backhoe from the utility company has just arrived.

The other day an engineer overseeing this project told me that all the subsurface utility pipes are from the 1930s.

Morning folks...I had next to no sleep last night, I was freezing despite the room being 65 deg... coughed and coughed...head killing me....so in desperation this morning I called the doctors surgery and they said they had no availlable appointments for today... but the receptionist said I sound so terrible that, she was going to ask a doctor to call me....

he just has, and he's sending a prescription for antibiotics to my local pharmacy and they should be ready in an hour...

I was trying to think where I could have got this from... and in the last week I've dealt with so many people up close..gardeners, the handyman.. who i think it might have been him, cuz he kept getting too close for my comfort... then there was my friend and I went shopping on Thursday... then of course all the cowds at the stately home... whatever it is , it's whacked me with th big stick

An explanation for my swinging moods: Yesterday was physically overwhelmed. Slept badly in a sit up position with no back, as if I were sleeping on a stool. How I didn't fall over is a miracle of sorts. Anyway 🐈‍⬛ Gidget got a cat obsession, you guys with cats have seen this, where she must MUST destroy something. In this case, it was a lovely photo@Peppermint Patty made on one of her famous walks. I loved this picture. Took Gidget a lot of time, with me chasing her & yelling, but she destroyed it. Now the wall is bare. I loved that picture so much. It hurt.

I've been way too happy lately, too energetic, I knew from my past a crash was coming and it did.

Had 11 hours of straight, good sleep last night, feel better.

Today am picking up grandson and having dinner at my son's. Of course I'm afraid of AccessARide, of course I am. This is where I can take @Medusa's loving advice to breathe, I got this.

Sorry for my temper tantrum. Life is hard but pays off with joy, I hope my cup runneth over with that. ❤️son/grandson❤️

Second day fo gutter work.

Our helper will come After he takes his wife to get groceries

I hope to get back to cleaning behind the dryer,, which is in the basement.
Got to find a working shop vac.

Have pot pie filling left over,, may make another pie crust for it.
There was only one piece of pot pie left over!

Another sunny day.
Yesterday's wind kept me inside

All went well at the opticians, my distance sight is in good order in both eyes, but for reading I need a slight upgrade. Stopped by at work on the way home. The manager there explained previously that there are three new trucks arriving over the next three weeks, can I help with their collection, but it will be on the next three Saturdays. I ran it past the lady and she's okay with it, so that's confirmed.

My tailor has been in touch, we are meeting in about an hour, more about that later. I'm cooking roasted vegetables with roasted potatoes today, our meat substitute will be mini omelettes. My lady has gone out to some shopping centre, that's certain to damage our wealth. So what, you can't take it with you. There's my phone, a text ping! It's my tailor. Must dash.

Good Morning, Everyone 🤗 🌻 :coffee:

I've just come in from the first dog walk. It's a bit cooler today than yesterday, but still nice in a light coat.

Yesterday it was the dog walks, my projects and a movie with adult daughter. Well that and two video appointments.

The usuals today as well.

Hope everyone is feeling good this morning.

@Pepper, So glad you're feeling a bit better today. ❤️

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I ordered a stationary bike yesterday. It will be here on Saturday. :) I have a treadmill, but just haven't been feeling it lately and besides, adult daughter is staying with us for a bit and kind of has the basement area, where my treadmill is, right now.

So, I'm going to have a stationary bike in the master bedroom. Should be easier on my hip joints, which is a bonus. :) Yay.
