Second day fo gutter work.

Our helper will come After he takes his wife to get groceries

I hope to get back to cleaning behind the dryer,, which is in the basement.
Got to find a working shop vac.

Have pot pie filling left over,, may make another pie crust for it.
There was only one piece of pot pie left over!

Another sunny day.
Yesterday's wind kept me inside
That one piece should have been breakfast for the cook.

Well 've got my antibiotics.. and already taken one and another is due soon...

I had to drive to the pharmacy to get them while it was raining... so I decided I may as well pick up a few groceries while I was out.. all masked up.... and then the sun came out and it's still out now at 4.30pm...

My head is pounding, I've taken 2 paracetamol but it doesn't seem to be shifting it...

I had a thought in the car on the way back... that I'd been at the hospital last Friday to have bloods done... i wonder if I caught it there....

$150 doesn't 1/2 fill a cart in the Midwest.
Thinking most singles are eating at Bars / fast foods.
See lots there every afternoon as I drive past.
40's+ at groceries, mostly seniors too. Few Teens / 30's
Seniors walking around a lot buying $20 - $30. ... Pot pies, frozen food, coffee.
Beef too chewy for false teeth. One can break a tooth off.

I have had a light cough this week, so has the wife. She had blood work tests 2 weeks ago.
Its been a great week / 10 days so far in March. Looks like bad weather out west at elevation though.

I got the bright idea of using the pill splitter on a benadryl tablet. Benadryl isn't a good idea for old folks because it's diphenhydramine and could contribute to dementia, but after enough sleepless nights, I don't give a rat's rear🐀 and don't take it very often. So if one is 25mg, then it's only 12.5mg when split. That means I'm only half as likely to get goofy.
I'm often in the same boat, GG. "They" (whoever "they" are) speak out of both sides of their mouths. Don't take diphenhydramine because it could contribute to dementia. Also be sure to get 7-8 hours of sleep each night because too little sleep contributes to dementia.

Falling and staying asleep frequently becomes a serious challenge for us as we get older. Without a little help, it can move from difficult to impossible.

When I can't fall or stay asleep, I gnaw off and chew a small bit of a 25mg diphenhydramine pill rather than bothering with a pill splitter. Very yuk and need plenty of water to remove the bitter taste, but I've learned it works better and faster if I chew it.

I try to not take it more than a few times a week, and only rarely two days in a row.

I used to take marijuana gummies to help me sleep, but stopped after reading research that THC is linked to a significantly higher rate of heart attacks and strokes. No thanks.

Dug up clump of day lilies & replanted them,,,,yaa.
Something I meant to get that done last year.

Next to the basement & clean out behind the dryer.

There is self loaded with old stuff that should be sorted & discarded.

Then I look over my back at Hubby's trains & the stuff pilled on its table/ track set up.:eek::oops:
Used cat litter makes for a great cover up on trash day:>)

Holly when you need to shift pain, this is the strongest painkiller you can buy over the counter. They are soluble, so these tablets will get into your system more quickly. They are strong, mind you drinking the dissolved solution takes some doing, ugh! The taste is gross.
So powerful are they that they come with a warning: "Do not take for more than 3 days in succession."

Good thing I’m a procrastinator. Yesterday I was all set to polish and put away my winter boots. It didn’t happen because of who knows why. Had to put them on today for my walk in the deep wet snow. It was a mess and I only walked a mile. It should be all melted away this afternoon.

HC... obviously I'm not thinking straight at the moment.. because I have 15 mg of co-codamol in the meds cabinet.. thanks for the reminder...

Today was in interesting and unusual day...

Started off with a pedicure, then book club, which was excellent as always.

Came home to have lunch, was sitting outside at my little garden table... a lady in a tailored outfit pulls up and comes toward me across the lawn. She flashed one of those official ID cards in the leather case (like FBI or NYPD) and explained she was with the ---- government agency and they were doing an investigation.

At first I thought she was talking about my across-the -street neighbor and I was about to run her off (lol, no McCarthy witch hunts in this area, thank you) but finally understood that it was our neighbor's son (who joined the Navy last summer) who needed vetting for security clearance for his job with the military... ooooh, ok. Of course, we gave him a glowing report (which is totally true). Never had anything like that happen before.

Caught up on documentation from yesterday's work and visited with Ed. Now home and preparing to watch the latest installment of Ben Maton (Salisbury Organist) on YouTube.

Y'all have a nice evening.

It rained at our house, but it snowed at Big Bear Lake 7,000 feet high in the San Bernardino Mountains.
No big deal for people in the northern U.S. States, but for us it's still exciting.

I used to go skiing here www.bigbearmountainresort.com ............keeping the newly hatched eaglets warm www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4-L2nfGcuE

Left: Down here in the valley at 1,200 feet altitude, flowers are blooming in my wife's garden.
Right: Tonight's lunar eclipse. When it was almost dark minutes later (the blood moon) then my camera did no longer focus = too dark

When the current rain clouds are gone and we can see again the mountains, then it will look like in this picture taken earlier.

That always bothers me when ID is flashed in real life or on TV. Apparently it’s very easy to scam whoever sees it.

Not in your case, because it all seems logical.
As long as the person has been used as reference one objective is surprise.

~ Updated my son's and my budget spreadsheets with our latest purchases.

~ I was like a well-oiled machine today. Went down to the laundry room and washed a double load of clothes. Of course I dried them in the apartment. While half of those were drying, I…..

~Revised my will and living will, filled out the postal forms I needed as well as my BFFs birthday card.

~ After folding the clothes I walked to the post office to mail those items.

~When I got home I put the other half of the laundry in the dryer. I did not fall asleep like I thought I would, so also folded them as soon as they were finished drying.

I timed it that way because I wanted to fold my towels as soon as I took them out and get to the post office by 2:30 when it's less busy. Sure enough there were only two people online ahead of me and when I got done there was a long line. After I finished the clothes I was tired so chilled the rest of the day.

Woke up early, 4 am. I am aware my sleep patterns are giving me trouble.
Watched yesterday's episode of 'Beyond the Gates.' Really hooked on this new soap. I watch it on demand so must endure commercials, but it's worth it. Great story, characters, actors. I'm hooked on two soaps now. I like my two soaps better than anything I watch on Netflix, etc.

Expecting a delivery this morning. Get my mind calmed for blood test tomorrow, I'm a nervous wreck. If nurse thinks I'm going to dust this dump because she's coming she is wrong, ha ha. Sometimes I think I'm sloppy so I don't have guests other than family. I've become a partial hermit.

Was thinking this morning about my dad, how much he wanted to live after his cancer death sentence. I want to live, too. Obviously, I learned from dad that wanting is not enough. Out of my hands, LIFE..........precious LIFE.

Had dinner last night with son/grandson at their diner on first floor of their bldg. I had breakfast for dinner--pancakes & bacon, oh my YUM. And, I actually ate out at a NYC restaurant. A treat for me. Treat. My grandson a treat. Teaching grandma rules of soccer, we had such fun! When his dad got home, he continued a Monster Challenge he was having with such contestants as Godzilla, Spiderman, need I say more? He did his homework, math and reading. He reads so well, I'd say at least two years or more ahead of where I was at his age, his dad too.

Got home and cats 🐈‍⬛ 🐈 very happy. I'm watching that Gidget 🐈‍⬛, she's a troublemaker!

@hollydolly Are you feeling better today?

It might be another nice day. Once it's daylight, I'll be able to tell better. If so, maybe I can move another two feet of that blankety-bank monkey grass.

Well. On the Thursday evening before my SS deposit is deposited for the following Wednesday, it shows up as a pending deposit in my checking account. It wasn't there last evening. It's not there this morning, and the only info on the website says "there is no activity scheduled for the next 15 days." I'm getting as nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.

I went to SSA.gov and signed into my account to see if there's anything amiss or if there's something I was supposed to do and didn't. Nope. Everything is up to date. My info hasn't changed in 16 years.

Lemme just say this :poop: is getting real, and I'm getting scared. At least I have enough savings to carry me through for a while, and DD/DSIL certainly won't throw me to the wolves🐺🐺
