Is there an ongoing battle between good and evil forces?

Is there an ongoing battle between good and evil forces or is it simply a matter of balance and equilibrium between positive and negative energies?

I don’t believe in sin but evil does exist in the world. Unlike god’s judgement I believe people are held accountable for their thoughts and actions by karma In congregation by people of like minds. No heaven or hell but if there is an afterlife it will be an accumulation of people with things and values of similar nature.

in truth I do not know but as far as I am concerned the Christian god or the devil does not exist.

I basically agree with you except for your thoughts on karma. I do not believe there is any such thing as karma. All karma is IMHO is a bunch of people who got together to judge and then punish based mainly on gossip and what they want to believe. Karma is kind of like a witch hunt.

Yeah I guess, what about the laws of attraction? It seems positive attracts positive, the same concept with negative energy. That would be like karma?

That would be more like cause and effect to me, which I guess some might call karma. Today's popular use of the word karma seems to be more judgmental though. "Karma is getting her." I think it is a way people absolve themselvs of any responsibility while getting to feel superior and nonjudgmental.

It seems like looking in the mirror of life and seeing your reflection whether positive or negative is payback. Karma, no judgement you get what you play for.

Then why would good things happen to bad people and bad things happen to good people? Another lifetime? I don't think so. When I look in the mirror what I see is fine, I am content with my karma or soul or whatever you want to call it. I know what I did or did not do and I know why I did or did not do it. People who do not have that knowledge may band together to judge. They may be satisfied if I have bad fortune. It is easier for them that way.

Are you asking this for self evaluation or in general?

As for balance. IMO there would have to be some kind of documented reliable study done world wide to determine balance of the factors involving the opposing forces.

Can you define evil? Evil may be defined as the ability and enjoyment of causing harm without remorse or guilt. A social / psychopath may cause physical and psychological harm without remorse for their own pleasure. By society’s standards evil is are the behaviors inconsistent with the norms of society in accordance with the morale majority.

knocks on the head a bit that we were all created in the image of God? heh
Not exactly correct or at least according to this bible verse..
The Bible verse "Let us make man in our image" appears in Genesis 1:26.

Who the "our" is & what image that is, isn't really clear is it? Fossil remains sure don't look all that promising for winning beauty contests.
