Today I took a Photography Group that I lead up to the lovely South Cumbrian MArket Town of Kirkby Lonsdale. It's particularly beautiful down by the River Lune and Devil's Bridge.

One of my daughters and I went to Ohio over the weekend to visit my sister, who unfortunately is in hospice care. Her spirits are not good. She is totally dependent on here daughters for her care. My daughter did all of the driving, which we very nice. We did get a change to stop by and see the house that I grew up in.

sorry to hear about your sister, what would happen if she hadn't had anyone ( children) to care for her at the hospice ?

How far was the drive for you and your DD ?

Love landscapes with moss and lichen on rocks and stone. Without leaves on trees during winter now showing branches, a more aesthetic graphic.

What crosses on top of those old Roman arches?
 
Didn't feel very well this morning so, I gave myself the day off. I felt better at lunchtime and decided to go for a walk. It's still chilly. I fancy making some smoothies tomorrow so I bought bananas, kiwis and black grapes and Oatly milk. I might add some natural yogurt too. I also got some cheese and crackers to go with the jar of fig chutney that's been sitting on the shelf for a little while now.
 
This morning I had my annual medical check up. It's not something that I can get on our National Health Service, and it's quite expensive, but oh so thorough. All went well thankfully, afterwards saw me at work. I'm at work all week, I was asked if I could be available to cover someone whilst they were off on leave for a week.

This evening I have been filling our social diary with upcoming dances and vintage festivals. It depends how my lady is feeling, but if she's up for it we will be at The Swinging Spring Ball on Saturday. No dancing of course, there again she might just get me up for a slow rumba, who knows?

Later, at the end of May, we hope to get to the Vintage Nostalgia Festival at Stockton, it's only 30 miles north of where we live, our MG always gets well received there..

Look at the time, I must be away with the fairies, I have work in the morning. Wishing you all sweet dreams.
 
Today I woke up early , did two plumbing jobs and after went to an ice cream place and bought a large vanilla malted and large chocolate malted , just drank them both which means I will pay dearly for my arrogance , my contempt for reality and can kiss the straight 10 hours of sleep I was planning on getting good bye .
 
Nothing earth-shattering but I picked up my tax return today. I am still waiting for the year I receive a refund rather than owing. Hubby worked through August 2024 but this year it's just my Social Security and investments to support both of us. Fingers crossed for 2026. At least the taxes are finished.

I have always enjoyed doing what some might call creative taxes and low and behold so far so good .
 
last nice day
For Awhile. going to do outdoor things today. had lots of anxiety yesterday. went to the new Ymca yesterday to walk on the indoor track.to many people and very noisy. be glad when newness wears off if it ever does. it's a very popular place. which is good except for people like me that don't like to be around a lot of people and noise.
 
Dang! It's cold this morning. Should I believe "them" and get started in the garden or should I stay inside and stay warm?

I've actually made a list of the stuff that needs to be done in the garden because I get a case of oh-look-shiny and wander off to do something that could have waited. The things that need to be done must get done today. Tomorrow is Rocking Chair Money day, which means errands and...a trip to each of the two garden centers. Tomorrow is WooHoo Day for the garden.
 
Afternoon all.... glorious sunny day today...50 deg..... I wish I could go out... really , the sun is like a magnet for me, but alas, I cannot... still not well enough..

Last night I had to sleep stting up.. to stop coughing and choking...

The antibiotics are all gone now... I can only hope that things will start to improve

Anyway onwards and upwards... Have a super day my friends.. 🧡

On my early walk at 6:50 temp was 30 as I walked around the building before breakfast
This morning, there is a marketing event here at Gates,for people thinking about moving here in the future First there will be a video presentation,afterwards a free lunch in the dining room These events happen 2-3 times/yr. Last Nov Adam{ sales/market director} asked if I would be willing to share my thoughts at this event, I said' 'yes'. Another couple who have been here for 4 months will also partake.
The end of May it will be my 1 yr anniv, have no clue where the time has gone, no regrets,this was the best move for me
The rest of my day hope to take an afternoon walk ,read NYT. I've made my dinner reservation in dining room for 5:30,don;t know who I'll be eating with

Social Supvr to show up at 11 today, dunno why, may be
cuts are coming what with all the nonsense coming out of
wash d.c., anyhoo waiting for a new mailbox to be put up,
luckily nothing but junk mail yest/today....yestrrday was
tuff what with TINNITUS and SORE joints all over...today
starting abt the same....got to order groc cause out of
