James Earl Files (born January 24, 1942), also known as James Sutton,[a] is an American former prisoner. In 1994, while serving a 50-year sentence for the 1991 attempted murders of two police officers, Files gave interviews stating that he was the "grassy knoll shooter" in the 1963 assassination of United States President John F. Kennedy.[3][4][5] He said he took one shot at Kennedy with a Remington XP-100 "fireball" gun, which was the final, fatal, head shot which infamously caused Kennedy's to jerk violently back and to the left.[6][7] Files has subsequently been interviewed by others and discussed in multiple books pertaining to the assassination and related theories.[4][5] In 1994, the Federal Bureau of Investigation was quoted as having investigated Files' allegation and found it "not credible".[3][8]
In 2010, Playboy magazine published an article by Hillel Levin in which Files also implicated Charles Nicoletti and John Roselli in the assassination of Kennedy.[9] In 2022 Ted Nelson posted a video interview with Files on his YouTube channel

Agree it will be more or less same perhaps worded bit differently and as you know one person CAN make that shot even with that rifle which was still bit archaic even for those days but it can be done .I doubt that they contain any earth shattering revelations.
I’ll wait for the historians and conspiracy theorists to churn through the 80,000 pages and tell me what they think I should believe.
Not saying he did not have some backing , real training by a pro but if so we will never know .
He was kicked out of the Marines and while enlisted he was an Aviation Electronics Operator so not like he was a sniper and boot camp does not make anyone a sniper .

The only reason why the JFK assassination files have been hidden for so long, IMO, is to ensure that anyone involved would be long gone., When I think about the person who would have benefited from JFK's death, the only name that comes up is LBJ. It was no secret that Kennedy didn't get along well with LBJ, and would have probably chosen another person for his VP in the next election, This would have crushed LBJ's ego and ended his political career.

Great point because LBJ and Kennedy did not like each other but as everyone here knows Kennedy had an assembly line on enemies here in country and foreign .

I remember when Dorothy Kilgallen from the TV show “What’s My Line” announced she was going to investigate the assassination (I think for a possible book) and was found dead about 2 years later.
It was stated in a book my mom had that she had questioned the facts of the assassination from the start. The book also stated that she was under surveillance from the FBI and the SS, including wiretaps.

She wasn't the only to question the official version who wound up dead.

There's was an infamous study done with in the first 10 years of the assassination/was out by the early 1970s and unusually high number of JFK assassination witness had 'died'.

One possibility is H Howard Hunt who was later implicated with Watergate, 10 years later.

James McCord's name came up in the files as well. I think the current batch has a 'don't recall' statement from him. Watergate was mentioned in a 2023 release.

Right or wrong, this is the opinion I've had since I was old enough to study it and *have* an opinion. I was just a wee lass when it happened, but there's always been a strong interest in history, so I found out everything I could over the years.
Kilgallen was supposedly found dead due to alcohol and barbiturates. Her friends told the investigators that she never took anything, except aspirins and Advil.
There were others that were also named as being investigating the JFK assassination, however, Kilgallen was the most noted person being a newspaper columnist. I don’t remember the show, but heard my parents speak of it.

That was a different guy. McCord was Nixon White House or campaign staffer if I recall.

Funny I still remember a friend in 1972 who told me he was going to Washington and try a job at the Watergate. No one heard of it then, and he had no qualifications for it.
You description/assessment is right on. The actual security guard who discovered the break-in was Frank Willis an unemployed auto worker. The job paid $80 per week

Her life was sad and she was used left and right by Hollywood , some in power no wonder she suffered from such depression .
