I absolutely hated the Captain and Tenille one.. my daughter had just been born, we were in the middle of huge heatwave in the UK.. temps up to 100 degrees.. I'd just got married, we'd just moved to another part of the country.. and that damn song was getting played everywhere

Those are the actual nominees that year.
 
It seems that I remember hearing "Mandy" on the radio, over and over and over again... but I think that mighta' been '75... can't remember.

"Lying Eyes" seems to have picked up a following in '76/'77 and years following... so I'm stuck. 😅

All the songs were released in 1975. But the Awards shows are always looking at the previous year releases of both music and movies.
