I need to rage a bit

You think you're being grilled because you're a newbie here?
I regret to inform you that your posts are being grilled based on their content. SF has no hazing tradition.
If you could just read slowly. I said "new kid" in reference to my recent membership. I in no way even insinuated that was why I was being grilled.
:giggle: I know it is due to the fact that some of you find me distasteful; why my posts are being scrutinized and attacked. And that's ok.

I didn't need 2 hours to feel pushback from some of the members.
It's a bit cliquey
:)
Well please don't let this thread put you off the forum... Some topics just get some people riled up... if you can stand your ground stand it.. if not stay away from controversial threads... most people on the forum are not cliquey in the sense you probably mean, it's just that so many of us have been here for many years and we're just friends or like a huge family , but we don't use that as an excuse to attack or exclude anyone new ..

We only judge people on the way they post... .. I say.. stick around you'll get used to whose who.. and make full use of the ignore button, it'll make life a lot calmer ...

Nothing wrong with my reading skills. You said:
"apologies for allowing myself to be caught up in a conversation that has nothing to do with your OP and is more about grilling the new kid." (Bold emphasis is mine.)

That suggests - and insinuates - that you're being grilled because you're the new kid.

To head you off before you go down a different "they're picking on me" road, the "grilling" also has nothing to do with your faith. Agnostics, Atheists, Buddhists, Christians, Catholics, Jews, Muslims, and other belief systems are represented on this forum, and we manage to get along just fine.

You made derogatory, hyperbolic remarks, painting women, young people and their choices with a broad, ugly brush. That's what some of us take issue with. I don't know any women who hate men. Not one.
Women's lib, "wokeism", careers-not-kids, why get married?, and the like has grown into something that is..... ugly. It ain't enough for these young women to stay single; they want marriage to fall by the wayside. It's ain't enough for women to have equal rights; they want women to rule. The younger generations seem to want everyone to hate men like many of them do. (I rather like my man, his masculinity and head of the household role :D )

I do....!! there's a lot of it happening in the UK

We don't need more left Leaning individuals that love what they think are freebies!!

interesting take on my point that nowhere supports pure capitalism or pure socialism.

yes I do support things like the universal medical system we have here - it isnt 'freebies', it is IMO a more responsible and equitable system and I do think other developed countries have that balance better than US.
That isnt very left leaning by the way - or not to anyone outside US.
I havent heard of anyone in Australia who wants t o dismantle Medicare or anyone in UK who wants to dismantle NHS and would be political suicide from any politician of any party t o suggest this.

Apparently NHS is not working and there may be changes in the air. Keir Starmer abolishes NHS England to cut 'bureaucracy' with thousands to lose jobs - live updates

From that article he is planning to 'cut layers of bureacracy" not to dismantle the whole NHS system

Of course our Medicare/PBS ,the NHS, other universal medical systems which exist in other countries, are not perfect and of course what is included and not included is tweaked from time to time, there are always 'changes in the air' - but the overall system is here to stay.

In before the lock...

Gosh... Maybe I am the root of all that is wrong in the world as @HoneyNut implied. This thread sure frazzled some nerves.

In regards to the biblical view of which sex is in charge... God created Eve from Adam's rib to be beside him. Not his head to be above him or his foot to be below him.
