Why those young'uns, and their new ways................

We're old and for most of us, retired. So, we can carp about how horribly bad our kids, and grandkids are messing up things. What do you complain about those young'uns and their newfangled ways?


I can take the tattoos and skin piercings, but I just can't take hair "buns" on a guy. I have to fight the urge to haul out some scissors and get rid of that offensive thing.

Agreed on the "man bun". Also men with painted nails. Or makeup. Pants that are hanging below the butt.... I mean what on earth? I'd think they would trip all the time!

Agree with you both... and men wearing skirts... I know that they should be able to if women wear trousers, but it just doesn't seem decent for a man to wear a skirt...

I agree about the man buns. I can't take those guys serious. Men used to dress with class and style. Those days are gone.

Well, Scots wear kilts and when I went to parochial school, our skirts looked a lot like the kilt. Tattoos and skin piercing make me crazy. Why these young folks want to cover lovely young skin with all that, is beyond me.

Nose rings are made for hog tryin to dig out, or bulls being ornery. Not young women!!

Most of it isn’t much different than the way we chose to express ourselves in the 60s and 70s and I’m ok with it.

I’m not crazy about the alpha male tight fitting suits that appear to be two sizes too small.

This cape suit makes me smile, I can see young men buying them to wear to the senior prom.

My mantra is "This too shall pass....this too shall pass....this too shall pass". Once, WE were the young'uns that the older generation was sighing about. One of these days, today's young'uns will be moaning about THEIR young'uns are doing.

It's been going on for thousands of years.

when we went to Fiji it was very common to see men and boys wearing skirts- staff in resort uniforms, boys going to school, business attire etc

Ink, body piercing has been around since man started walking upright. Do some research and you will find surprises about periods being considered prim and proper

Male fashions and heels, tight pants/hose and float coats have also been around. Some military parade u informs had to be dried on the body lacking elastic.

Has everyone here forgotten the days of taking a bath in their jeans, tube tops, big hair, full makeup?
