A different way to celebrate a birthday

Yesterday was My daughter's birthday And I called her to wish her a
Happy birthday and asked her what she was doing Special. She told me they were (she and her hubby) were going to a escape room.

Has anyone ever done that?
Do you know anyone who's ever done that?

I have no interest in live action immersive adventures or any need to be entertained.

A quiet dinner in a nice restaurant with no mention of my birthday or even a pizza at home would be more my style.

It's probably not something I'd do, but from what I read, they are a growing new trend. His daughter is still probably in the age group to enjoy such things.

I'm with That Lady in PA. Ziplining and escape rooms sound like my cup of tea. I've done a lot of ziplining, but I'm going to put an escape room on my to-do list.

Update: Called...to see how they did..
did 2 rooms..one success.
other..mostt diffoicult..only 20%success rate.
They had a good time

but the rooms are usually very large, some times there are two or three, with so many things to explore

First heard about it when my bosses ( two women who are married to each other) said they were going to one just for fun. I thought what???? This was about 5 years ago. But they were at the time, in their late twenties, I was in my mid sixties. They had to explain it to me.

Never heard of "escape rooms".... Googled it. Not interested, would rather have a quiet dinner with family & friends.
