When I opened my Peacock app today, a trailer for the pilot episode was showing and it intrigued me. I've known of the show's existence for years, but was never interested in watching it until today. When the show first aired, I was a Grey's Anatomy fan which satisfied my medical drama "needs". I got tired of Grey's (and their new "meh" characters and storylines) a couple of seasons ago.

Liking the actors, characters and teams are important factors for whether or not I continue to watch a show. I don't know yet how I feel about those three aspects. If you've watched Chicago Med, I'd be interested in your feedback.

I have not watched that show but the next time you subscribe to Max, I suggest you try The Pitt for your medical drama "needs". Some of the people who were the showrunners for ER are also responsible for The Pitt. It's referred to as the unofficial sequel to ER but for legal reasons they could not make an official sequel to ER. One thing that makes it unique is the show is done in real time (like 24 was).

I've seen The Pitt advertised recently and it does look interesting. Thank you for the suggestion, but I won't be subscribing to Max. Had it a couple of times years back and canceled it each time (same with HBO). I didn't see the value in them relative to content. I might change my mind if I can take advantage of a freebie and watch all the episodes of The Pitt during the trial period. Right now, my TV "plate" is overflowing though.

I recently started enjoying hospital series after watching the Good Doctor, so then I watched New Amsterdam, and Grey's Anatomy. They all seem to be a bit redundant in their plotlines, and then I quit watching them, but I'm always keeping my eye open for something interesting.

I like most Dick Wolf productions (Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D.) but Chicago Med is my favorite, airing each Wednesday. Several medical plots are occurring simultaneously in each episode, and of course there are certain romantic involvements in the hospital staff at the same time. It never fails to hold my attention.

Chicago Med, Chicago Fire and Chicago PD are ALL good shows OneEyedDiva. Chicago Med sometimes gets too graphic for me but the story lines are really good. Theres romances in the scripts so it never gets boring. I personally like all the Chicago drama shows. They are very well done.
My son was into PD, I think. I gave it a look and didn't even finish the first episode. I didn't like the characters and didn't really know any of the actors. I have to like one or the other or optimally, I'd like both. I especially like shows with teams that work well together. Yes, I was watching Chicago med while eating and decided I didn't want to see the graphic injuries during my dinner. So far, I haven't gotten back to it.

I don’t always like the actors at first but after watching it for a few episodes they grow on me. The other day I was watching an episode on Chicago Fire and one of the actors died. She was a paramedic. It really got to me. One of the guys was dating and living with her and he got all messed up. Luckily he had friends looking out for him. I think I like the Chicago fire one the best. Good luck finding a show that you like.

I saw a promo for Chicago Fire that interested me. Now I can't remember if that's the one I checked out. I've got so many shows on my various watch lists that it's ridiculous. And somehow I wind up adding more! So apparently I've found too many shows I like. :D But thank you Patty.

@MACKTEXAS Glad you are enjoying the franchise.

Same here!
A while back I watched a part of an interview with the cast members of Chicago Fire. They were very friendly, joyous and unpretentious bunch of people. Turns out that they are all very good friends in real life. It was very pleasant to watch.

Watched Med since it started.
Along with Fire.P.D. and the brief Chicago Justice.
But I like Medical dramas…I like The Pitt( which was supposed to be an E.R. reboot when first mooted) and Brilliant Minds too.
The multi-faceted story lines of all those are appealing.
We seem to be turning our very long running BBC hospital drama -Casualty-into something more akin to an American type production.
Not sure we do it very well though.

You might like to try "Doc" on Fox and Hulu. I really like that show. Good plot and good acting, in my opinion. They just finished Season 1.
"A doctor with memory loss must navigate an unfamiliar world."
The series is inspired by doctor Pierdante Piccioni, former chief of the ER of Lodi and Codogno, who forgot the previous 12 years of his life following a car accident.

I like it when I learn that cast members are friends in real life. The two lead actors in Scrubs, Jack Braff and Donal Faison are best friends in real life. The cast members of Abbott Elementary are also real life friends. I've read the same about Blue Bloods.

I watched one episode of Brilliant Minds and never got back to it. It has been canceled.

Dave, my husband and I started watching The Good Doctor when it first aired and liked it. I think I've seen 3 episodes. I used to try to wait to watch things with my husband but he always fell asleep. Now that The Good Doctor is streaming, I kept meaning to get back to it but just haven't done it. I think I watched one episode of New Amsterdam. And since starting this post, I never got back to Chicago Med. I've just got too much stuff to watch!

Another avid voice here for The Pitt. I got Max just to see this, and it has not disappointed. ER was the best med show of all time, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if The Pitt surpasses it (despite no Clooney or Margolies!) And in now having Max, I've found lots of new shows to watch, or to re-watch. I think it has great stuff.

About Chicago Med: watched a few eps years ago but got tired of it.

I didn't watch ER much when it first aired but after watching The Pitt I decided to give ER another try. I ended up binging the first few seasons. I'll eventually go back to finishing it's run at some point in the future.
