How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

Woke up late after interrupted sleep, stumbled out to kitchen, and while waiting for coffee machine to do its magic, put on my new go-to YouTube channel for mellow jazz background music. The first song was “It’s been a Hard Days night”. Beatles are always apropos 🥱😊

A beautiful day here, but unfortunately Mrs.L has caught one or these bugs that appear out of the blue. She's feeling a bit better today and hopefully she'll be OK soon and back gardening. I've been fitting a new battery charger in the campervan and it's been a real pain. The van wiring had been modified and needed tidied up to connect the new charger. I've got it basically working, but I've still to connect in the vehicle battery. This should be simple, but I need some new connectors to finish the job.
Give our best wishes to Mrs L..Capt .. hope she's better soon....

Turned out to be yet another glorious day...

It's no 4.20pm.. I got back an hour ago, after having my nails done in my local market town, but we have very little here in the way of grocery shopping.. so I drove into North London, and got couple of bags from M&S, to stock up because I'm told we're going to get rain next week...

My friend Jen almost always come with me to get our nails done at the same time, and she did today as well.. on the way back to pick her car up we stopped off at the village pub, and had coffee..

I got big Easter eggs for the children next door.. and some liqueurs and Wine for the the adults.. as an Easter gift for all the food they bring me... Only trouble is the children are off school for yet another 10 days so I can't take it sneak it past them to their parents.. so I've got to figgure out how I can take them with out the kids seeing..until the parents deem it ok....

I had my MOHS surgery today and it was a lot worse than I anticipated.

When they let me look at my nose before he closed it up, I dropped the mirror, it startled and scared me so much.

Then, I looked again after he closed up and had to create a "flap" by doing some sort of jigsaw-puzzle maneuver and now I look like Dr. Frankenstein did the surgery. I look like a patchwork quilt.

My nose is pulled out of kilter but they assure me it will look better "within a year". I'd be OK if it were on my arm or leg, but my face?

Anyway....life will go on but I'm really in pain and I'm depressed as hell.

@jujube, I hope your healing goes along well.
@Capt Lightning - thinking of your Mrs. and hoping she's back in the pink very soon.
@Pepper - so glad you had such an excellent day with your son, GS and Access Ride driver! Your son will be back in town before you know it. We'll be here to help fill the gap. ❤️
@RadishRose - sorry about your GS. This is going around (again!)... I've got the same thing myself.

I had to cancel watching infant grandson today and will probably pass on TGS tomorrow. I'm not horribly sick, just feel unwell with low energy. I very nearly passed out yesterday (quickly laid down on the floor to avoid collapsing), and am not sleeping well. Hoping this runs its course in just a few days and doesn't leave a lingering cough in its wake.

In the meantime I've got plenty of business work to keep me busy if I'm up to it. If not, it'll keep. We're well ahead of schedule. Still sweating the 10% tariff price bumps plus whatever else will come down from Washington. I brought in some $20K in product over the last week, with another $5K still en route, plus need at least another $10K to get us through the next two months, but the area of our house that we use for staging is already stacked with boxes.

We're at step #1: count everything in and sort for various embroidery, screen printing, and heat press embellishments.

p.s. TGS loves running an obstacle course through the boxes this time of year.

@StarSong , DGS is stating they have hand foot and mouth disease.

I never heard of this before, but apparently it's common. Take care of yourself!

Hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) is a viral illness that usually resolves on its own within 7-10 days, and there's no specific treatment, focusing on symptom relief and preventing dehydration.
About Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease
One of my sons had that when he was about 9 years old. Reportedly highly contagious but nobody else in the house got it. I recall the top layer of his tongue peeling off in a sheet. Very bizarre virus.

I likely have a standard issue head/chest cold but will take a Covid test just in case since I've got a few stashed in the cabinet. If it's Covid, I'll move to the guest room. If a cold, I'll stay put with DH in our bedroom.

My faith in object permanence is restored - I finally found my missing garden glove!

I thought I'd looked in every possible place, but this morning I needed to get a fasting blood draw, and when I took out the blood-work request form there was the glove!! -- sandwiched between the October appointment visit summary and the April blood test paper.

I'm an idiot to have put the glove away with the appointment paperwork, but I can piece together what happened - if the weather was pretty that day I would have walked to the doctor appt (15 min walk), and the gardens entrance is next to the medical building, I probably felt like two gloves made an unsightly lump in my pocket, so that is probably why I only took one with me.

Results of my newly discovered playground - namely headphones & laptop with AD free streaming software installed. Before I subscribed to 3 British streaming services prior to the demise of my 'TV EARS' headphones. Then having discovered that AD blocking software basically eliminates all ADs, popups & tracking through my laptop headphones brought on a new problem. Can I still subscribe to the services without ROKU management.

Found out I could which really doesn't save the ad-free subscription fees, just eliminates all ads, so I can pay for the lower standard subscription price. I can even subscribe to the ROKU channel & watch without ads. AD-Free is not illegal in any shape or form unless someones decides it's unfair or illegal. Taking on the tech giants with their complaints is almost impossible. Microsoft, Google,or the open source groups, businesses that have much deeper pockets than any one person or group. Insurmountable, Good luck!

Congrats for getting rid of ads. I don't mind them on TV because they seem to be more entertaining (the young Emu in his wagon, the young adult Emu running away from home, the 'we just had a moment' looking into each other's eyes with the Geico gecko, etc), but I abhor ads on YouTube videos and usually my ad blocker sneaks successfully under the radar, but every so often YouTube starts threatening me to block me for using an ad-blocker. Then I spend a few days only watching the YouTube-shorts type videos, and after that YouTube leaves me alone again.

I guess most establishments would rather not police their viewers, even though they advertise that they can refuse service to anyone, it would leave themselves open to all sorts of legal problems & a drain on their bottom line or they could appeal to your moral sense & point out that it's not nice. If you use open source such as I do then they would be going against the world.

In the last two days I have accomplishes several tasks that once would have seen ordinary. Yesterday I did the emissions test and renewed my car registration at the motor vehicle place. Then hit 2 grocery stores.

Today I had the final doctors appointment of three days In a row. (Why do they need to do blood work each day?) It was at 8:15 after only a few hours sleep. I worried because the office is a distance from the parking garage and I walk poorly and no ride was available.

I loaded up the rollator for the first time since voting, when I had someone to assist. It was a huge help and all went well.

I know others have similar problems and I felt like sharing.

Glad I moved out of stock market, What a horrendous bumpy ride! Yesterday up BIG! today down close to 50% on yesterday's gain. Someone chickened out playing the worldwide game. Can't even rely on dividends anymore. Day traders must be contemplating the open window. I got out long before the 2024 election.

You never know where things hide.

In for the day. Mowed lawn and planted dwarf zinnias that DD and I got this morning and potted a variegated ginger plant that I snatched up from the Clarence shelf. Neither garden center had the pentas or sunpatiens that I wanted:mad:

Laundry done, folded/hung up, put away!

Pork roast is smelling delicious.

Had to go back to the grocery store for the bananas I forgot yesterday. Got distracted by finding a $20 bill on the floor. I asked the few people around there. After I checked out, I took it to the service desk. The grumpy clerk took it and then I asked what’ll happen. It’ll go to the accounts room. If someone inquires, they’ll get it back. Not sure how any other clerk on duty would know the money was turned in. The thing that p.o.’d me was her comment “well, you won’t be getting it back.” My reply was that I’d like to know it would go to charity. What I really wanted to say was ‘if I had wanted it, I would have just kept it.’
