I damaged my new camcorder when it fell off a shelf

Landed on the zoom ring and left it with a flat spot so revolving the ring is no longer smooth.
Which affects the quality of the video with the zoon ring gripping and releasing with a shudder.
I have contacted a repairer to have the ring replaced.

Still works, records well so seems there is no other damage.
The ring itself is too thin to be repaired. Needs replacing.

That is the way of the world. Mayhem when one least needs it.
It still records as it should, but the zoom needs repairing.
