lol yes they get huge , I have not gone fishing in last 2 years but used to go by canals on 8th street by the water damn pass air boats / bullfrog farm and saw one big gator grab a small one which was about 4 feet , eat it after some wrestling in the water .

Scared the hell out of me , lol left the area .
 

Went to Florida every summer from ages 7-16. That was last time. Very bad Walterboro S. Carolina. Different story. Florida very beautiful. I could visit friend,BFF, near Miami. Can't. Not well enough to travel alone anymore. Need too much assistance
 
Being one of the older Seniors on here, wonder if others, like myself, remember when Jackie Gleason did his Saturday Night Shows from Miami Beach?

We visited the Fillmore in early 200ā€™s. ā€¦ walked thru the empty lobby of the hotel to the beach, to experience what it must have been like in those days.

I was at KW a month ago love the butterfly place and love Hemmingway house because the volunteers are amazing .

By far I prefer KW over Miami but KW is insanely expensive as far as houses , insurance due to hurricanes is insane . If I had millions to burn would have a beach house in KW and when hurricane came so be it would leave to a house someplace else , lol .

As you know he was like Bob Hope a golf fanatic retired in Miami to play golf every day .

Oh yes you can travel miles from rivers , lakes , canals and not see one gator though sometimes they are in the water and you do not see them but yes some areas barren of them and some areas wall to wall .

Funny thing is the 2 times I have gone fishing at night in local canal where none are seen one or two appeared so my fishing was ruined because they came right by canal edge and I FLED , lol.

I love the wild parrots here but the owls in your neck of the woods can't be beat
