As you age, are people treating you differently?

Being female, I noticed a difference in my 30s, when I suddenly became invisible. Since then I've discovered this is fairly common, and gets worse and worse over time.
What sadly I do think is worse for females regardless of age is car shops , handy men , just workers period are more prone to pull nonsense on a woman then a man .

I base this on things I have seen but got involved , heard in my walk through life .

How do you compare Texas to Florida as far as people ?

I have never been to Texas but meet Texans in Key West as some leave out of there instead of Miami on cruise and they are very friendly .
This was a relocation for my husband's job. We lived near Dallas for 5 years.
The climate was quite different. We were coming from the Sarasota area, if you are familiar with it. We missed being away from the water, even though there were lakes around, it was not the same. The area had a lot of High Tech people and they were quite younger than us. People were from all over.
My husband was very busy with work and travelled extensively during the week. Therefore, we decided to join Meet Ups groups for dining and social events in order to make friends. It was very enjoyable and we met a lot of interesting people.
I learned about the brisket, bbq, mexican food, and country music.
I loved the summers there. It was very hot, but dry. I was amazed by the quick population growth. Unfortunately, that destroyed the peaceful little western town we were living in, IMO. I loved to see the corn fields and the longhorn cows instead of subdivisions!

We lived in Lewisville for over 30 years. Since moving to Kansas, the area we lived in has been prone to the news , even a murder not too long ago. Moving to the prairie lands of Ks. has been a big adjustment to say the least.

We were in the capital of nowhere next to Ft. Worth for five years. Loved it.

Please try to pull some nonsense on me. SO was gone when we custom built a home in the middle of old woods in GA, gutted a home down to outside walls and one bath tub in Alabama. He was home for major remodels of builder show homes in Texas and Oklahoma. Handy men are a special breed. Talk their talk, pay cash and be nice.

I live in an Indigenous township really that we whites share somehow - usually there is a high respect for the Indigenous elderly and it rubs off sometimes on the whites? I know all the old staff in WW and we have a good yarn and laugh - just a quiet romp in the country!
