GE Moving 500 Jobs Overseas Crying No Tax Payer Subsidization-EXTORTION

WhatInThe

GE in an act resembling a tantrum like fit decided to ship 500 jobs overseas, mostly to France claiming that the end of the import-export bank caused them to export the jobs basically whining no tax payer subsidies no jobs here. Sounds like a whiny extortor to me. Crying because they didn't get corporate welfare? GE is a huge corporation who netted 15.2 BILLION DOLLARS in 2014 and they have trouble financing projects????

Last year the CEO of GE made over 18 MILLION dollars in compensation

And this big bad mega corporation is crying about the lack of tax payer financing.

I agree.. Trump will fix this nonsense... As he said in his speech yesterday.. He would call the CEO of GE at 9am... and tell him that there will be a 35% tax on all goods coming back to the States for sale.. The CEO will argue... Trump will say NO... Then Lobbyists will call him... Trump will say NO... and like magic GE will call him by 5pm to tell him they are moving those jobs back to the USA..

Is it really this simple?

Trump's and other ideas on exporting jobs and tax shelters would work in combination with things like boycotts and cutting off all funding simultaneously.

It is Obama's own choice since he became President. His choice, his problem.

Obama Picks Jeffrey Immelt, GE CEO, To Run New Jobs-Focused Panel As GE Sends Jobs Overseas, Pays Little In Taxes

Jeffrey R. Immelt, the chairman and chief executive of General Electric Co. tapped by President Barack Obama as his next top outside economic adviser, will be asked to guide the White House as it attempts to jump-start lackluster job creation and spur a muddled recovery.

Immelt's firm stands as Exhibit A of a successful and profitable corporate America standing at the forefront of the recovery. It also represents the archetypal company that's hoarding cash, sending jobs overseas, relying on taxpayer bailouts and paying less taxes than envisioned.

The move is the latest salvo in the White House's continued aggressive and very public outreach to corporate America. Earlier this month, Obama appointed a top executive at JPMorgan Chase as his chief of staff, and this week he granted a longtime wish of business interests by promising to review federal regulations perceived as onerous.

Stuck with him, GE advisor, still and it has been 6 years now.

Never said the Republicans never make mistakes. But was pointing out to those true believers of Obama's purity that he also has made some real bad mistakes too. Lots of things that Obama has done so far in his six plus years have been big mistakes. We will all pay for them over time. Including some true believers of his purity. And this time it is for sure an Obama mistake that is the problem to correct. Immelt should be gone from his advisers job. I wonder how much those jobs pay?

One of the things to keep in mind with GE and others is that US helps fund exports of these businesses with the Import/Export Bank and yet these same companies frequently shelter their profits/money off shore.

Also in 2011 GE was one of 3 companies accounting for 44% use of the Import/Export Bank. GE used 1.1 BILLION in 2011. It's estimated they GE was able to export 5 BILLION dollars in product from the Import/Export dollars.

http://uslatestnews.org/news/2015/sep/10/export-import-bank-subsidies-given-us-companies-ke/

GE is also complaining no import/export bank anymore to help finance their endeavors yet in 2011 when they used the bank for 1 BILLION dollars they were sitting on 79 BILLION DOLLARS in CASH.

So they want others to fund their business while having the cash on the books to pay for it. Much or most of their profit is from or stored out of country avoiding taxes and the US economy.

If a US headquartered company makes profits overseas, those profits should not be taxed as if made in the US at all. Those would be taxes that should be paid to those countries tax collectors.

They should only be taxed by the USA IF they try to ship their product to the USA for sale. In other words... what they sell here... gets taxed here.. Trump says he would impose a 35% tax on products manufactured overseas by American companies and sold in the US.. Therefore... they are free to send all the jobs they want overseas... BUT should they want to take advantage of the American market... tax the hell out of them.

If they received US dollars to export that overseas there should be some kind of tax or penalty. And there is still the maze of foreign owned subsidiaries for business conducted in the US for other companies and not just GE.

No argument with that idea at all. That is different than taxing any profits made in a different country.
