How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

I think old people often die of boredom🥱. Wish I had a job:(.

After yesterday's and last night's rain, it's sunny this morning but not going to be very warm. Maybe 70.

Guess I fiddle around in the garden today. Pull a few weeds and stuff.
I have to agree because boredom does catch you .

A friend bought a food truck and his permit kicks in may 8 so three of us are heading out that day though for him way more work as far as ordering things , etc .

I hope it works out .

I have a plumbing job today at 2 pm but yes lost interest in that and food truck being by beach seems exciting at least different .

Have you thought of Uber or any type food delivery , delivery at all ?

A guy not far from me was fired from his job they down size he now does Uber for cruise ships when they come to port and regrets not having left his office job years ago

He only works day time and makes his own hours though the money is in am being at port as ships unload .

My last colonoscopy the anesthesiologist told my they use propofol for sedation. I raised my eyebrows, thinking of Michael Jackson's death. She explained that propofol is very useful in a surgical setting because it's easy to bring people back out from under sedation, then asked if I'd previously been sedated and had difficulty "coming to."

Indeed I had.

She was right. With propofol I was foggy for only a few minutes after being brought back to consciousness, and able to go home within an hour.

Last time I went, I asked the phlebotomist to use the tiny, butterfly needle that is often used for infants and people with fragile veins. She didn't blink, just nodded and got one out. Took literally a few seconds longer to fill both vials, but the pain of the draw was so much less.

I don't object to blood draws, but the previous time was quite painful and my arm hurt for a full day.

Before they lay everything out, you might want to ask them to use that smaller needle.
You know I am going to do that truth is had no idea about butterfly needles , etc .

You can see my veins so no looking for them but yes I find it all so unpleasant .

I gave my car away five years ago so have to depend on DD to ferry me to and from.
Oh I see and from what I have heard most of Georgia leaves a lot to be desired as far as transportation system thus can see why without a car seriously difficult to get a job be it part time , etc .

We have free trolley here which has been a God send for those w/o vehicles . I am a huge believer in free trolleys as helps out a lot of people .

Sometime last night our house flooded. Luckily we found out where the flood came from; my upstairs bathroom. The hose running into the toilet broke. It’s not a huge flood. My bathroom floor was partially flooded and the downstairs basement was partially flooded including my husbands washroom. We have just finished cleaning that up now. My husband’s going to go into town to get the part he needs. I’ll stay home and look after the dogs. Hopefully this shall be resolved in a matter of hours. The water damage doesnt look too intensive.
'' The hose running into the toilet broke.''

Ouch and not frequent as often it leaks for long time first but glad water damage not that bad as water damage is no joke .

So it was the anesthesiologist who had the pleassure of wheeling my operating bed back to the recovery room. As he left op room he said IT STINKS IN HERE, I NEED FRESH AIR. Very unprofessional, wouldn't you say?
My limited experience dealing with people in health care is most are professional , outstanding people but there are a few who should have been fired long time ago .

I did it. I've completed the application to go back to work at the fast-food breakfast/lunch place where I worked before going to Kroger. My only job there was to make/bake biscuits. They called me their "biscuit bitch.";)

Not very hopeful that they'll hire me back because (1) I'm old, (2) I only want to work 4am-8am, (3) only want to be the biscuit bitch again. That's kind of limiting unless they don't have anybody dependable willing to be there at 4am.

If my former supervisor is still there (should be...she'd been there for 12 years), my chances improve because we had a good working relationship, got along well and liked each other. Fingers crossed.

ETA: Oh, one more thing: the pay isn't very good, but the point was that I merely want somewhere to go, something to do, and feel like I'm needed.

Now I have to convince DD to take me by there to drop off the application. Fingers crossed for that, too, because it means she'd have to get up at 3:30am to drop me off and then pick me up at 8.

Think as we age it gets harder to hit the vein but there are those who are Twilight Zone inhabitants
that cannot do the job at all. Then there are those so good you didn't hardly have time to see em.

A clutz will fumble around for like 5 minutes.

It takes a special person to be a good biscuit bitch. 🤗

without a doubt - you need compensations??

Well why do I feel like I've done nothing today...how weird...

I did all the Ivy cutting back which meant standing on the top rung of a 6 foot ladder in the high winds..... swept all that up.. charged up tool batteries.. tidied up the barn... vacc'd upstairs and down in the house, brushed down and washed the front doorsteap and frames..did the laundry, and put it all away .. and cooked steak and mash for dinner.. but apart from my sore biceps from using the heavy tools today.. I feel somehow I've not achieved anything.... which is strange..

Well...apropos the job application, first thing is to get DD to take me over there, then whether or not I get hired will first have to do with whether they need someone, then...as far as pay goes, they are notorious for low pay, and it won't matter one iota to them whether I have experience or not.

If DD will take me over there and they actually have a job for me, DD will have to also agree to take me and pick me up.

Everything will have to align just right. Maybe it depends on the moon, sun and stars and where the planets are?

In any case, would y'all mind facing the East for a moment of silent prayer? Thanks.
