Notes from Pappy's diary

My wife decided to vacuum today. Honey, the vacuum isnt picking up anything. Long story short, every filter, there is 3 filters, was plugged solid. Cleaned everything up and darn thing is sucking up the rug now. Problem solved.

Payed my rent today. Seems weird paying rent again but we are adjusting to our apartment and getting more comfortable every day.

Not having groceries delivered anymore but go to the store and they bring them out and put in the car. No Publix markets here so we are using ShopRite right now.

Daughter and SIL due home from two weeks in Greece and surrounding areas. Be good to have them home and close by.

That’s about it for now so have a happy day..Pappy

I hope you're using a good strong insulated wheely trolley like this to wheel your groceries up into the apartment and not trying to carry them

good to see ya up and active Pappy - keep that battalion on the move - left right left right keep the hover running tight!!

you do knew we miss you and news of Thelma don't you [wots his name forgotten it already ?? - Pap wot Papp double pp oh with an e and y ending?

Slow but sure we are getting settled. Still have a couple more boxes of miscellaneous items to go through. Having trouble getting use to the cooler weather. Blood thinners don’t help any and I’ve had the heat on since we got here.

Thelma sees a neurologist next week. The doctor down south nothing to help her. I’m hoping this doctor can slow this terrible disease down and give her some more quality time.

Daughter, Sue, and granddaughter, Shari, stopped in yesterday and brought coffee and donuts. We had a nice visit as my daughter had just gotten back from 2 weeks in Greece with a tour group.

Getting late so goodbye til next time….Pappy

Pappy I think I did... but if I didn't recommend Teepa Snow videos... please look her up. She's an expect or AZ and dementias... and she describes the exact stages, what to expect.. how to deal with it.. and so on....

You turned me onto Teepa Snow and she has helped me communicating with my friend who has dementia. Everyone should watch her videos. You never know when you might need to know something about it.

she is superb at guiding people to know how to deal or what to expect with these conditions , I agree.. I'm pleased you found her useful Kat... and I just realised I spelled her name wrog , so I'l go back and correct that.

A very quiet day here today so I went through some of my old photos. I have so many albums and boxes of loose pictures. I’ll post a couple that go back mostly in the 60s and 70s. This one was taken shortly after we bought our first house. The beautiful 55 Pontiac was my pride and joy and the rest of the family. Dave, Suzanne and baby Jeffrey were and are my real pride and joy.

Hi Pappy just droppin in for the news - ever seen the Canadian show Corner Gas - that's got a slightly younger Pappy and Thelma in it but not as smooth as yuz two!! - the humor just caught me at the time - slapstick style

I'm glad to catch up on your updates, Pappy.

It is a major adjustment after any move, and especially cross country.
The cold would be difficult, as you said.

I hope Thelma will have a good new Dr with some helpful suggestions .

"Wow -wow and wow " again - yea can see what you mean but rather big now just for you and Thelma heh? and now new beginnings AGAIN!! and less cleaning perhaps?? look forward to the new photos!! you're not back in Norwich are you??

Went to BJs club and stocked up on tp, paper towels, coffee and more. It is a beautiful day here and we got out a couple of times. Took a little work, went to DG and stopped for coffee. Slowly learning my way around up here.
Still haven’t gotten our mail from Florida yet. I did every thing right, filled out the forms so I guess the PO screwed that up.
Need to buy a swivel rocking chair for living room and two outside chairs for our patio. It’s getting time to take coffee out and watch the sunrise. At my age, I cherish every one of them. Pappy

No Poughkeepsie. Will be visiting Norwich as my brother lives there and want to visit 3 graveyards with flowers.

Wow, your house sold fast! Seems like FL property is selling like hotcakes lately. Another friend of mine sold their house as soon as they listed it. They were not living there so it worked out well for them as well.

Sometimes getting to know a new city is fun but at our ages, I can't say for sure. :)

VA blood draw at 12:30 today. Still getting meds squared away and see my doctor next week to follow up.
Started out sunny but weather is changing fast. Spotty showers until Sunday. The only thing I find fault with, in this apartment, is it faces north and south. We get no heat from the sun and it always seems to cool in here. I’m afraid my heat bill will be crazy each month. I haven’t received the first bill yet so I’ll have to wait and see.
I found a pizza place near us and they deliver. Got a medium with pepperoni last night to celebrate the sale of our house.
Years ago, I bought a cabinet, with heating unit, from the Amish. I use this more than the apartment heater. It was a great purchase and it must be 15 years old now.
