Can't Get Senior Forums To Come Up On An iPad

A friend of mine who also posts on this forum called me yesterday and said he uses his iPad most everyday to post here. However, for some reason, when he types in seniorforums.com into the address bar, the site will not open. I don't have an iPad, so I couldn't help him. Any ideas what the problem may be?

Send him this link and ask if he can get in using either of the links

Check the WiFi Connection the Computer, Check the connection of the phone to the puter.
See if the phone, Wifi and Puter are connected with Blutooth. My ipads and phone easily grab
5G if available or LTE.

I don't have to type anything into any of my ipads to grab SF just tap the icon at the bottom.
It resembles a North South Compass scale.
Download the Latest updates to the phone and iPad. See if that helps.

If Holly's suggestions don't work, I bet he buys a new iPad tomorrow. I think he said he has had his iPad for about 8 years.

All I ever use is my iPad, and i never have any trouble. Instead of typing it in each time, if he clicks the little box with the up arrow on the right top side of the iPad (when he is on the forum) and then scrolls down to “add to Home Screen”, that will save the forum as an icon on his desktop and all he has to do is click it to go to the forum after that.

All he has to do is tap the blue white icon that looks sort of like a Compas. Then tap the bar and look for the forum icon in it.
In Favorites, It contains the Frequently Visited online site icons. Tap between the square icons in the grey area. to open favorites.

The Senior icon is a blue square with 2 - S's in it. Sign in and go.

If he uses a proxy or VPN, he may need to stop using them when visiting this forum. We blocked many proxy and VPN IPs.

Thanks, Holly. I typed in the entire URL and look what happened. It worked.
This is the darndest thing I ever saw. Every other website I tried worked without typing in the entire URL, except Senior Forums.
My new hard drive for my desk top computer arrived late last evening from Amazon, but I really like using my iPad in the mornings as I sit and drink my 4 cups of coffee.
Thanks again.

Thanks again, Holly. It sure was a mystery to me.

My son is an IT supervisor for the state in the Department of Revenue. He was my last resort. I wanted to try to resolve it on my own without asking him. He already thinks I lack technical knowledge.

My question now is: “Why must I put in the entire URL to connect to the website?” I would have thought Apple would have put out a fix for this problem.

I don't know ...but I know it works... would be interesting to do a little research on this

Do you have the Lil Micro SD Chip in your iPad for your system you are on.
Verizon / At&t, that would be on the chip. Are you only using WiFi and not
joined up with your mobil phone too. When you chip to your phone service
The ipad screen resembles the phones. You would still have Apple Cloud too.
Then you just touch icons and go.

One way to make the iPAD more fun is to Bluetooth a nice Keypad to it. I have
one that even has a scroll pad on it.

Try Senior Forums and then click on Senior Forums web site. You will have the Green House there.
I just used it, the Apple one doesn't show the green house like the puter does but
it says Senior Forums (Underlined with a blue line.) Just tap it.
If you are signed in you won't have to sign in again..
