Canada's Lotto at 80 Million Tonight

@oldman

The Tix are 5 dollars for 3 sets of 7 numbers. You can chip in an extra buck for a 7 digit encore number. No tax on lottery winnings in Canada.

I was on reddit and was discussing playing the lottery. Good lord the people were all "You should invest! You should invest!"

I replied "I'm 64, have health issues which prevent me from working, to what benefit is investing when I'll never get to enjoy the results?"

I indeed may never win the lottery, but my chances of suddenly recovering health, stamina and youthful vigor are zero, what else is there?

I also remember years ago buying tickets for the Canadian lottery. Never won, but had fun with the tickets you had to open, sometimes, there'd be an extra ticket.

The Lottery just sells 'The Dream' of winning. The odds are incredibly stacked against you. But on the flipside, somebody always does win...so there's that.

I like playing lotteries. Here in the U.S., we pay taxes on our earnings. Both federal and state.

I know I have a compulsive streak to my nature, so I purposely avoid Casino's etc...

But I will chip in 5 or 10 bucks for a Lotto ticket from time to time when the pot gets big.

One thing I've learned about Gamblers...they only tell you about their wins.
