This is the rare Australian Sea Lion. Only found here in Western Australia and South Australia.With a total population of 10 - 12,000. 85% of them reside in South Australia, the other 15% live here in Western Australia.
They live for 17 - 25 years, reaching breeding maturity after 12 years.
They feed from the sea floor, catching creatures such as octopus, sharks, rock lobster, cuttlefish and small rays.
Breeding cycles happen only once every 18 months and a female will only breed at the site where she was born.
Only 30% of pups survive to breeding age.

We get them down near Edithburgh on Yorke Peninsula and and area down south of Adelaide @Bretrick

South Australia has 10,000 of the estimated 12,000 population.
We’ve seen them approx a km from where we live , I don’t believe it normal for them to be where they were ~ and
the sea water is not as deep as down near Edithburgh.
@Bretrick
We a seen them fairly close up near knob beach (near Cowell in South Aust ) that's about 500 km from Adelaide
