the thing is about the token that I use..it's not left in the trolley. I just put it in and the trolley is released then I can take it out again.. whereas if I use a coin or one of those coin replacemnt tokens, they have to be left in the trolley for the duration...I just use a quarter - have one on my keyring in a little gizmo Aldi gave DD during a grand opening. She had a couple and shared one my way.

the thing is as well many trolleys were being stolen. Homeless people using them, yobs stealing them and them ending up in the river or on some sink estate garden. Supermarkets were losiing thousands of trolleys and ££'sWe do not pay anything for carts here. Someone usually takes the cart after I empty it into my car and they say they will take it. If a lot of shoppers, carts get scarce in the store.
It rained fairly hard yesterday and more rain today into tomorrow. We really need the rain, so that is good. It does make driving a little less likely.
Oooooh, I want that!Mama just ask me to chauffeur to OKC and get her a bowl of Pho for Mothers Day lunch....we don't have any kids between us but she's done a pretty good job of raising me for the past 49 years so I guess that counts.

Just use the back of a house key.yes same thing happens here , but mostly people use tokens... which they keep on their keyrings, so they don't have to scramble for a coin
this type of thing...they're the exact same size as a pound coin... most people have a few.. keep one in th car..one on their keys etc...

I feel terrible today. Some sort of summer cold, hay fever or one of the numerous bugs that seem to go around. Mrs. L had something similar last month, but it only lasted a couple of days. Hope this doesn't last as we're heading off for a couple of days midweek.
Hopefully we'll be OK to do some gardening today in spite of my sniffles and Mrs.L's aches. We've got lots of flowers to plant out.
Where are you taking her?Mama just ask me to chauffeur to OKC and get her a bowl of Pho for Mothers Day lunch....we don't have any kids between us but she's done a pretty good job of raising me for the past 49 years so I guess that counts.

Reminds me of when The Three Stooges and cartoon characters used a coin on a string to make a payphone call.Just use the back of a house key.
I used to put coins in the slots of son's work shoes. Different currencies to identify a pair.Reminds me of when The Three Stooges and cartoon characters used a coin on a string to make a payphone call.
Legend has it that the penny loafer was first made in the early part of the 20th Century. Back then, a call on a pay phone cost 2 cents, so the point was that each shoe securely held a penny so you always had what you needed to make an emergency phone call.
Thank you!
Correct. But when you return the trolley/cart, your coin or token is returned. I have no need of that quarter while I'm shopping so it's not a hardship to loan it to the cart.the thing is about the token that I use..it's not left in the trolley. I just put it in and the trolley is released then I can take it out again.. whereas if I use a coin or one of those coin replacement tokens, they have to be left in the trolley for the duration...
Just following orders....I'm sure the cleaning lady appreciated that!![]()
Happy boy!Good Sunday morning, to all. It's May 11th, so Mother's Day in the US.
Wishing all women who fully or occasionally took on the role of a mom, a very happy Mother's Day. Without helpful grandmothers, aunties, neighbors and friends easing the burden, most mothers would be in a serious pickle.
Today our 3 year old grandson is spending the day with us.Yesterday, many LAFD stations hosted open houses so DS & DDIL took their kids to the local station Being crazy about fire engines, he was thrilled to sit in the truck. I can't wait to hear him tell all about it!
