It's not mothers day here... that's in March....... hope you all have at least a call from your kids... if not a visit...

I just use a quarter - have one on my keyring in a little gizmo Aldi gave DD during a grand opening. She had a couple and shared one my way.

the thing is about the token that I use..it's not left in the trolley. I just put it in and the trolley is released then I can take it out again.. whereas if I use a coin or one of those coin replacemnt tokens, they have to be left in the trolley for the duration...

We do not pay anything for carts here. Someone usually takes the cart after I empty it into my car and they say they will take it. If a lot of shoppers, carts get scarce in the store.

It rained fairly hard yesterday and more rain today into tomorrow. We really need the rain, so that is good. It does make driving a little less likely.

My son & grandson came over yesterday. I was sick, chills, shaking, legs refused to be happy. Had to ask my DIL not to come after work so they could take me out to dinner. Had to send son/grandson home early. Went to bed immediately after they left; slept all night through. Today, still very shaky, cold, but not as bad.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! TO ANYONE WHO HAS EVER FELT MATERNAL!

My early morning walk at 7, temp was 45 sun shining, heard some robins as I walked around building once
This morning ,friend, Marcia picking me up to/from our church service at 10:30. Afterwards, having brunch in dining room with 3 other church members who also live here
The rest of my day, talk with my brother, read local paper, hope to take afternoon walk, sunny day temps in low 60's

the thing is as well many trolleys were being stolen. Homeless people using them, yobs stealing them and them ending up in the river or on some sink estate garden. Supermarkets were losiing thousands of trolleys and ££'s

Weather is perfect. I'm heading over to my son's house, for a lunch he's fixing on his new grill, out on the deck. His son, my #4 grandchild (the only one who lives nearby) is coming too.

When my son asked where I want to go for lunch or dinner on Mothers Day, I said, "Your house." We get enough restaurants all year; this is special! 😁

I feel terrible today. Some sort of summer cold, hay fever or one of the numerous bugs that seem to go around. Mrs. L had something similar last month, but it only lasted a couple of days. Hope this doesn't last as we're heading off for a couple of days midweek.

Hopefully we'll be OK to do some gardening today in spite of my sniffles and Mrs.L's aches. We've got lots of flowers to plant out.

Tell it to go away! Be firm about that.

Just use the back of a house key.
Reminds me of when The Three Stooges and cartoon characters used a coin on a string to make a payphone call.

Legend has it that the penny loafer was first made in the early part of the 20th Century. Back then, a call on a pay phone cost 2 cents, so the point was that each shoe securely held a penny so you always had what you needed to make an emergency phone call.

I used to put coins in the slots of son's work shoes. Different currencies to identify a pair.

Correct. But when you return the trolley/cart, your coin or token is returned. I have no need of that quarter while I'm shopping so it's not a hardship to loan it to the cart.

Good Sunday morning, to all. It's May 11th, so Mother's Day in the US.
Wishing all women who fully or occasionally took on the role of a mom, a very happy Mother's Day. Without helpful grandmothers, aunties, neighbors and friends easing the burden, most mothers would be in a serious pickle.

Today our 3 year old grandson is spending the day with us. ❤️ Yesterday, many LAFD stations hosted open houses so DS & DDIL took their kids to the local station Being crazy about fire engines, he was thrilled to sit in the truck. I can't wait to hear him tell all about it!
