Your local TV station's morning show.

Where I live, it's "Channel 16 Action News". The local morning news show is always the same. First a car crash, murder or shooting. Then it's a story about a blind lady, who bakes cookies to give away to the homeless. Followed by some kind of animal story. Go to a different city, there's a different set and cast, but it's just the same??
Does this sound just like your local morning news?

The best local channel is Cable Spectrum News, NY1. The best reporters, I am so familiar and happy with them. Best arts & Broadway. Really, the only reason I can't give up cable. I love these people and look forward to seeing them daily. Love their segment "In the Papers" where they show the local rags and interesting stories from them. A part of my NY soul!

Saturday & Sunday mornings are always a recap of the week on all the local channels, plus some new and interesting things happening over the weekend.

Today it was who won the Iroquois Steeplechase, the Savannah Bananas lost, a salute to all moms on Mothers Day with some great pictures, and a snippet on poison hemlock lock which is toxic to all critters and humans.

If I don’t want to hear the subject matter, I hit mute🤠

All that plus a group of way too cheerful folks laughing and scratching.

The morning news is pretty thin, Birthdays, trivia, file footage from the national news and a bit of the weather mixed with nonsensical banter.

Surprisingly, it’s better now than in the last when all of the news crew used to appear in various children’s shows throughout the day.

A local legend, Mike Price just passed away.

We also had the Magic Toy Shop!

These days I can get more information in seconds from my iPhone than I can from an hour of the morning news.

I prefer not to watch or listen to any of the mainstream medias on TV or Radio. Too much has become political. I have a subscription with the local online newspaper where I can pick an choose what I want to read.
I stick to news like DW, France24, Reuters, RT, Al Jazeera, Hhk, CGTN, Press News and few others like them. Watching the usual network and cable news, you'll miss 85% of what's happening in the world.

I only have free broadcast TV, so I normally watch network news morning and evening. I want to know if anything alarming has happened, and I want to hear the weather. I can get all that on my phone or laptop, but it's more convenient to just switch on TV during my morning and evening meals. I'm not particularly interested in the opinions of talk show hosts about current events or world affairs.

My wife is usually up before me in the morning. She always turns on ABC7 news. She doesn't really even watch the program, just has it on for "background noise". Fortunately the volume is on low when I get up and come into the living room. I patiently wait 'til 7am, then turn in the Science Channel for How the Universe Works.

I find the local news too corny. I record CBS News on DVR and watch it later in the morning so I can watch what I want and fast forward through the rest. Even This Week with George Stephanopoulos spent their entire hour on the new Pope this morning. Yes, it's a big deal for the US but it's not like I haven't heard absolutely everything by now.
