Ladies don’t forget your bones

it isnt just ladies - the bone density scan is recomended for everyone over 70 here. (and some other risk factors)

not being over 70 and having none of the other risk factors, I have not had one done myself.

Only recently had a bone density test ….and thankfully it was excellent
Dr said he credits it to our active / healthy lifestyle …
Great news! I’m sure I’ll be fine, but as it won’t cost me anything and a friend urged me to get one, I’m having it done. Didn’t realize I had one in 2021, I thought it was longer. I just had X-rays of both shoulders and other than some small bone spurs, there was no issue.

Not sure about the vehement attitude of some, although my neighbor smokes like a chimney and drinks like a fish and won’t have any kind of medical tests done. To each his own, I guess.

I do refuse the annual Medicare “wellness check.” That’s just silly.

I’ve also refused the yearly wellness check we are offered here in Australia once you turn 70 , ( I’m 79)

@PurplePower

I’ve been seeing the same GP for 38 years and when he bought it up I should see the nurse …and i asked why ? And said very politely ..Doc ….my number one thing that raises my BP is sitting in a drs waiting room ….so no …if I was ill …having falls … had diabetes … or some other illness… I’d see the nurse, but I’d just be taking up an appointment someone else may need more than me.

You don’t need to justify your decisions.
