Up all night, as usual. Took the dogs out last night about 3am. I always go with them in the middle of the night to make sure there is no barking. It was nice and cool. My loopers were right there on the patio table.

I thought just grab those and cut back some overgrowth. Instead, I tripped myself on a tree root and made a face plant. When I went down my knee landed right on another tree root. Let me tell you, I had a heck of time getting up.

I did not see blood, so I just thought that is going to be a big bruise. I got in the house went to grab a towel to wipe off the dirt. Thats when the blood came. The dirt had ground into the wound and kept it from bleeding.

I went and took a shower because roll around in the grass had me itching all over. Sat for the next five hours trying to get the blood to stop. It was like a slow leak in a tire. Every time I had to get and down it started again.

Nothing to do but got to the doctor. There was one little part of it that was quit deep. She had to rinse it out, it hurt like worse than you know what. I admit, I screamed like a girl, right I am a girl, so it is okay! She pressed around the wound to make sure she got all the grime out.

She wanted to try gluing it. If it does not hold, I will have to go back and get stitches. Sent in a script for antibiotic, something for inflammation and orders for a tetanus.

Here you are at the doctor and you would think that they could give you the tetanus. Guess what, she tells me Medicare will not pay for it in office. They will cover it at the pharmacy. Is anyone else aware of this?

I am home waiting for an email the meds are ready.

So, take it from me don't get silly ideas at 3am in the dark. I like to think I took the fall for @hawkdon but someone else needs to take the next one for him!
Aww you poor thing, you've been through the mill... what a shock falling like that ... but here's another reason for you to be trying to sleep at night, if you hadn't been out in the dark you would have seen that tree root... bless you.. ...I hope you feel better soon..

Happy Thursday, May 22nd!

Last night I enjoyed 13 year old grandson's school orchestra's final performance for the school term. Very impressive, especially considering it's a group of 11-14 year olds. GS has come a long way with his violin skills in just under two years.

Warm again today, but not oppressively so. Have a few things on my agenda, but nothing too strenuous.

Hope you all find a way to make today a great day.

My neighbour came around with his 9 year old daughter, to bring me a parcel that had been left with them for me.... his little girl handed me a bunch of flowers, all beautifully wrapped, and when I asked her why I was getting them, she said..because you're so nice..... awwwwww... how sweet... 🥰🥰

They're going away for the holiday weekend.. and I have to tell you, I'm absolutely delighted, because for 3 days there will be peace... these kids are very noisy , and are outside from morning until night.. They're a lovely family, but since they moved in 5 years ago, I can only sit out in my garden when they're at school... it's impossible to use the garden at weekends or after school hours, because of the screaming....so peace for a whole 3 day weekend... yeaaaahhh!

@Blessed,, when you can get around better, check out solar stakes .
I bought one to scare the critters away from my strawberries.

Haven't put it out yet,,nothing but cloudy , rainy weather here.

While back I was sitting on the floor ,playing with Mac,tossing a toy for him.
Some how i moved quickly right into the leg of 'coffee table'. ouch!

Sat down to check out my wrist,, had peeled my skin back,, about size of a quarter.

With tissue catching what blood there was & trying to peel my skin back over the wound.
Cleaned it up & bandied over it..
Later used Bag Balm on it & ban-aid.

Healed up doesn't look bad,, bit of ridge where skin didn't lie flat.

Hope you heal well,, no scars. (y) :)

Another sunny day with a breezy afternoon, a bit cooler than yesterday, now 76F, that I have resigned myself to be minimally active during in order to better heal now on post surgery day 21, the 3 week point. Still can feel soreness in my left inguinal canal that doctors stitched a mesh across to close. Mic'd a Trader Joe's Chicken Burito Bowl with rice for lunch.

Just finished watching for a second time, a long, highly recommended 185 minute long Fall of Civilizations (chapter 13) Youtube video linked at bottom on the warmongering Assyrian Empire during the Christian biblical period that cruelly inflicted immense harm on neighbors of that region.

If anyone wonders why what we call God or as I lean towards ancient alien entities had reason to intervene in Earthly human affairs after civilizations first arose, they won't after viewing the below that also provides insight into the Old Testament one cannot understand merely by reading the Bible.

The Assyrian - Empire of Iron video Fall of Civilizations (Chapter 8) by Paul Cooper video

It is a more detailed podcast with superb static images of the later phase in the below 143 minute The Sumerians- Fall of the First Cities video I recommend watching first, that is linked in this below recent thread that allows The Assyrians Empire video to be better understood.

Doll, you need ear pods and Smart phone Bluetooth connection with music you adore. Then you can enjoy your life also with your outside activities negating kids having a ball in the yard.
My wife also enjoys her ear pod to negate distractions every afternoon / evening.
My hell zone are the 3 petz that are like way too clever!

I already have wireless bluetooth headphones... and quite often I've been known to go out and work in the garden listening to a book or something.. but much as they are supposed to have a range of several hundred yards, they break up only a few yards from the back door.. I don't know why because they're quite new... they used to be fine, but lately not...

Today I had a couple of long, interesting, deep conversations with one of my good friends and my Honorary Son #3, who called me twice. I was literally on the phone for 3 hours. My friend has a very unique, personal dilemma she's been grappling with for years. I helped her to explore options and made her feel better. We laugh a lot and that's healing for her (both of us really). Much of the talk with HS#3 was about the future of his radio program, including ideas. for future broadcasts, as well as other projects he's undertaking.

The rest of the day I did some financial stuff, cleaned up a bit, played my games and
:sleep::sleep::sleep:.

Holly, do you keep you phone on your person with WiFi connection to puter, maybe you need a Wi-Fi extender ? I have one in the garage that reaches
the street with the door up, say 20 yards. I don't usually rely on that stuff though. Like mowing, just mow and keep aware of stuff. Our EarPods
are blue tooth. The kids are at school too and the tractor noise. The kids across the street are in College so its a weekend parking place here.
The 2 little girls in the Cul-de-sac are playing with mom and dad mostly either with the tree house or front cul-de-sac volley ball / soccer stuff.
I have noticed that 5 g is not as good as LTE was with 4g. Computer tied into 5G. Here, Locking the phone with the Puter is a must do to.

Hope you have a better day dear Hawkie!

Good morning! I’ve been in such a funk for about ten days due to the gloomy weather. It felt soooooo good to sit in the sun for awhile yesterday, even though it was only 50. My neighbor came home for lunch so I got puppy time with her two boys, then my other neighbor came out and we sat and talked for about an hour.

Today I’ll first be picking up the messes all over my house from not feeling like doing anything for too many days. Then I will finally go to the garden center for some impatiens. Weather will only be in the 50s (40s at night) through at least Tuesday, but sunshine and no rain. Luckily my patio is on the southside of my condo, so it’s nice and warm.

Guess I’ll get moving. Have a good day.

My mango tree has FINALLY produced fruit! Not fruit plural, unfortunately, just one lonely mango. Why just one? And after six years of living here. It was here when we bought the house, so I don't know how old it is.

I thought maybe it needed a little...uh...opposite sex attention but in reading about mangos, apparently it can get along without a boyfriend or girlfriend. I also read that it can take up to eight years to start producing.

I feel like a new grandparent. Hey, everyone, here's my bouncing baby mango! I can't wait until it's mature so I can pick it and enjoy my own mango.

What can I say? My life is dull enough so that things like this loom large....

@IKE Yup. I'm mowing again, too. I was going to do it yesterday but just wasn't feeling it. It's on the to-do list today because if we're not being lied to again, it's supposed to start raining tomorrow and keep raining for the next week and a half.

@PurplePower I'm sooo glad I don't live up north anymore. The leaves won't even be out on the trees for another few weeks. It's full summer here.

@jujube Congratulations on being a new grandparent! LOL

@hawkdon I hope the fridge you get is a brand new one. It's gonna be a tad pricey to restock, right?

@hollydolly So what did we decided? Manicure or not?

Gotta get a wiggle on and get outside before the mood passes.
