A night spent round the fire

It was one of my priorities that we create a fire pit so we could sit around the fire at every opportunity!

We sat around the fire with our cocktails, then got hungry so I made a quick meal of gyosa and basil pasta which we ate around the fire!

Thanks folks! There’s lots more we want to do…put up string lights, Ron wants to actually construct a fire pit rather than using the premade one, we want to pave the gravel area, add more landscaping etc, but all that will take time.

Meanwhile we have a functioning fire pit area that’s pleasant, the kids and grands enjoy it too, plenty of room for folks and yes, as @Jace mentioned, welcoming to our neighbors who sometimes wander over to join us.

Reminds me of the youngish couple that lived next door
several years back, they scraped a hole in the ground (clay)
And built a fire pit, one eve he asked me how I like it, and I
said well it is fine, except your fire is directly below the tv
cable line!!!! he filled it back in!!!

But...the idea of being able to move it to different positions/areas and decorate around.it accordingly ..

My neighbor had one in a cage on wheels that she would pull into the driveway. She bought it years ago. There are burn cages available now but I haven't yet seen one as good.
