Bridget Macron the wife of the French President Emmanuel Macron, smacked him in the face in public as they began to leave a plane.. in Vietnam yesterday

The president has been forced to admit that his wife hit him during a heated row...

The video is here... it's very clear she hit him so hard his head reeled..

This was my first thought, too... cameras didn't "just happen" to catch the very first time there was a physical altercation. And you're right... had he done the same to her, he could possibly be forced to resign immediately by public outrage. Trying to remember if this ever happened (to any world leader, I mean) before... I'm only remembering rumors of behind the scene issues for a few of them over the years.

I couldn't agree more.. and I also can't think of another instance where this has happened in public between leading figures.


Oh yes she's much older than he is... it's very well known over here in Europe... no-one could understand the attraction much less the marriage, not only because of the age gap but because she's never appeared to be very personable to put it politely

Ironically just last week they attended the NO bulllying Award Ceremony in Paris

25 years is an enormous gap. I know some people make it work but ultimately it's usually too much of an age gap....

he's younger than my daughter.. and I'd be horrified if she took up someone whose older than me

Holly... I'm not meaning to derail your thread about the attack, but I just saw something and need to ask if it's true. Did this woman really meet her husband when she was teaching and he was her 15 year old student? There is so much misinformation floating around now, that it's hard to know what's real.

yes it's true... he was her sons' friend in the same class at Drama school, she was the teacher ... she was married and had 3 children
 
Now he's changing his story.. saying they were just horsing around when she hit him... yeah right.

Who on earth is horsing around just as you're about to leave a plane on an offical visit ?

Dear God ! This is the excuse all abused partners give when the abuse is first discovered... so sad...

Apologies for the poor quality of the photo. My wife's hair is all her own, but she does have it coloured. Brigitte Macron might take note of the name of the colouring that my wife's hairdresser uses. I kid you not, it's called: "Kick-Ass Red!"
