How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

Worked on the project house today…till we ran out of mortar. Of course…none available in the town the project house is located in. So it is back again tomorrow to finish the tile in the living room. Lots of people driving back from mexico. Some drive like they are late for something more important than their lives. Night you guys…

I went and got lumbar spine x-rays today, Saturday I got a lumbar spine MRI done, but it turned out that place didn't do xrays on Saturdays. So now I'll need to call the neuro doctor's office and make an appointment to hear the results. I finished the prednisone stuff a couple days ago. Currently my back doesn't hurt much, but I'm still numb in my left inguinal crease area (I guess that is what it is called, I think of it as my jeans front pocket area).

I'm hoping I'll just need to do some PT or exercises. Meanwhile I have a good excuse to not clean the house (I'm totally blaming the problem on wiping baseboards, tho I suspect it started from the plane ride to Italy last month).

Today was the 19th anniversary of the first time my wife and I met in person. We lost our spouses about the same time, and were active in a grief recovery chat room.
One day, she asked me where I lived, and we found out we lived only 40 miles apart. I suggested we meet half way, and the rest is history.
We were married the following year on the Island of Santorini.

It's not raining. Yet. Today is supposed to be more of the same as the past few days. My toes are starting to web. I'm getting mildewed.

No iris bulb digging again today.

We're going to lunch today to celebrate DD's birthday. It's not until tomorrow, but DSIL has a work trip and will be gone tomorrow through Sunday.

Aside from that? I dunno. I didn't dust yesterday because...I didn't. Maybe today?

Morning all folks....my grass is certainly greener than ever thanks to all the rain this spring, growing fast, in approx 6
weeks I've had it mowed 3 times....ah well...feeling sore place
now 2 days or so after doing the furniture/rug moving...okay
I deserve it, but one sore rib is rather a pest thing....did the
laundry yesterday, and got in a resupply for the fridge...never
got in touch with the recliner people tho, try again today...it
is coolish at 55F, going to 75 F....sure got the shakes today
from that copd brething.....have a good day all!!!

On my early walk at 6:50,temp was 53 as I walked around building complex before breakfast
Last week, Marcia asked if I was available today to dog sit my 'buddy boy', Tage{pharoh hound} for most of the day. She's picking me up at 10,will get home around 3:30 or 4. She's taking a friend,Dorothy to Hurd Orchard for lunch, her birthday present, she's never been there. Its located in Holley,NY near Batavia,1hr from Buffalo
I'll be bringing my lunch, book to read, this will be the highlight of my day

I'll be offline for the rest of the day. I'm taking my Mom to get her car window fix. I got lucky....the appointment was made 2 weeks ago, and today is the only day this week that it's not expected to rain!

I don't know how long it will take, but it will be at least a few hours. The owner of the repair shop suggested that Mom and I wait at the restaurant across the street. (sigh)

On a brighter note, I used to know the owner of that restaurant. It might be nice to see how she's been doing.

Talk to you all, well....when I can! Have a good day, everyone!

Good morning to everyone, another hot dry day and now forest fires in our area. It is unusual for us not to have rain during the spring weather. They keep forecasting rain but it goes around us.

Best wishes to those not feeling well and having problems today. Take care of yourselves.

Enjoy your day and weather to all. :)

Holy cow! I just realized that 67 years ago today was high school graduation day...sixty. seven. years. I spent the whole day making a dress to wear👗🎓.

One more thing...there were 99 in my graduating class. I was #67. The best of the worst :ROFLMAO:. Not exactly a scholar. There were more important things...boys, clothes...

High temperature today is forecast to reach a pleasant sunny 72F with 83F tomorrow and 93F Friday and 90F Saturday.

Yesterday Tuesday, fully watched, laying prone on a mattress, with understanding the longest YouTube video I've yet tackled, a 6 hour 48 minute long. And was well worth it as I continue my recent studies of history that I heretofore haven't had much interest on during my adult decades.

The Mongols - Terror of the Steppe by Paul Cooper

on his excellent Fall of Civilizations podcast channel.

That began with the life of a young Ghenghis Khan, and ended with a list of his offspring that then continued leading its murderous warmongering hordes. What that showed sadly is the horrible behaviors of say the earlier Akkadian empire in Mesopotamian was not an anomaly of how horrible humans can be.

Also received a modestly disappointing message from HP today stating my new custom desktop computer build has been delayed about a week.

Happy Wednesday, May 28! Another lovely day here, weather-wise. Partly cloudy, high - 77°, low - 55°.

After some coffee and breakfast I'll start counting and sorting yesterday afternoon's delivery while waiting for today's shipment. Tracking info tells me the boxes are on the UPS truck and should be delivered late morning or early afternoon.

I know that if I get it all done today, tomorrow should be a piece of cake, so I've got that to look forward to.

Hope you all make today a good one!

Ugh,, another rainy day!
I should have worked outside more , yesterday.

Had to make a run to phracmy , then to the bank.
Hubby worried that our statement got lost in the mail.

Yesterday I canceled an old SEARS credit card.
This morning while at the bank, I applied for a new credit card with no perks.

I always keep a low amount on my card,, so I can't get carried away buying too much.

Hope every one has a good day.

Want a quiet day. Doing chores--putting away laundry, wash dishes piled up, etc. I'm in a strange mood; somewhat depressed. Shaking less today; all the shaking yesterday exhausted & saddened me. Went to doctor yesterday. Picked a new doc from internet at a clinic I go to; made appt. for mid July. Don't like my present doctor anymore. He spends maybe five minutes with me. Big rush. I don't like it. I don't like his office, it's in basement. Don't like the stairs, don't like the elevator either. A very old one. I have trouble with the door; didn't have the strength to open it, just banged on glass till someone rescued me.

The cloud cover and constant rain has been depressing too. Dark, cold, wearing winter pants.

I hope I can lift my spirits. Since I don't seem to be able to, I'll try keeping busy with housework. There's enough to keep me busy.

My driver's license is up for renewal, so went online as suggested.
No soap.
Went to a local kiosk, again it stated 'Need updated photo, go to nearest testing center'.

Only two in Nashville and both are across town.

Doors open at 8:30 a.m., so I left at 7:15 to avoid much of the downtown traffic.
Got there at 7:45 and there was already a line with about 50 people queued up.

Got my 'number' around 8:50 and stood (seats full) and was called at 9:54.

Told the clerk who waited on me, that I just wanted a regular renewal, not a 'Real ID' type.

She scanned my license, had me sign the form, a new picture and I was out of there in less than 5 minutes.

I was grateful the military taught me how to 'wait'; Some people just had a hard time waiting.

Back on my deck, enjoying the rest of the day without much harm.

Hi all.it has been a long time since I wrote on this forum. But bless y'all....For me the hardest part about getting old is having no one to talk to ,,,and having great friends who have passed on. I do not know whom to trust or even talk to. Isolation is my reality. sorry to bother you. I just felt like coming on here today. I had some good friends on this site a few years ago who passed away, like Gaer for instance, I do not undstand life.

I watched most of that yesterday.

@RadishRose what do you think about that dangerous ancient world Ghenghis Khan grew up within where strongest nomads males took from those weaker, often over females and material wealth while killing whomever they preyed upon? To the point, groups of people needed to live within larger communities of nomads that offered group protection and methods of feeding themselves. Left alone, people like his mother that suddenly lost his father were exposed to cruel survival in their bleak steppe environment as others in her community abandoned them to the elements and animalistic predator nomads.

Also outside my condo, just had my 2007 Forester windshield replaced by a mobile street service for about $330.
