Ukraine hits Russian bombers deep inside Russia with drone attack

Yeah @Trade, good point.

I think something that some might overlooking is that hitting/doing significant damage to a "superpower's" Nuclear Arsenal is never something that they will take lightly. Beyond the humiliation that Putin is now having to personally deal with, the rest of the Russian General Staff is going to be clamoring for vengeance.

Er, that's my guess... which is worthless as well.

This reminds me of back during the Vietnam War when the nightly news would report the body count scores that supposedly showed that we were winning the war because we were killing more of them then they were killing of us. And we all know how that turned out.

Bottom line, I was lied to so much during the Vietnam War that I don't believe any of these reported war score cards.

I saw some satellite images yesterday that suggest there are indeed a lot of damaged aircraft. I saw an estimate cost to Russia of $6bn.

Reciprocation in a war is something that happens, but ultimately it is a tit-for-tat thing that's going on. Ukraine are illustrating that they are capable of striking deep inside Russia, which is as important as anything else.

The nuclear issue is why there needs to be political pressure on Putin to get around the table and make a deal. The wheel keeps turning, and if Putin uses tactical nukes in Europe then it won't end the war, it will instead cause European nations to come together and fight back. Putin must know that if he uses such weapons, the war will become wider and far more damaging to him and his nation. Personally, I'd favor sending the UK military into Russian territories if it happened.

Sadly, on the international stage, the political climate has changed, and Putin may feel empowered.

Not to worry somebody will magically throw themselves out of a window in Moscow and all will be well w Putin's psyche.
democracy -v- communism ?? simple but true
free will vs authoritarianism

or most simply in UKr vs RU case(and many others)

right vs wrong

From what I have heard there were unauthorized actors involved in supporting this action. I expect a few heads will roll in DC once investigations are over.

Someone used "UK" above to refer to Ukraine. "UK" has always been used in the past to refer to the United Kingdom, otherwise known as Great Britain.

Finally, NO one wins in wars. Everyone loses big time. If all nations thought the problem through thoroughly, no nation would participate in any wars.
