Living Alone & Bandages

There are Advantages & Disadvantages and trying to doctor hard to get to places on your body (Like Your Back) is a real challenge to your dexterity and is certainly a disadvantage of living alone. The past few weeks I have had a number of Basal Cell Cancers surgically removed and at least yesterdays procedure was on my lower nose and upper lip. It made eating dinner with a big swollen lip a bit of a challenge, but I managed. Hope my bout with skin cancers is over for a long time.

Me too Lon...hope it's over for you for a long time ..it definitely can't be pleasant, and having lived on my own for long periods of time in between marriages I know exactly what it's like not to have a 3rd hand when you most need it...but ya know Lon ...with all those women you keep telling us you wine and dine, why not just find one who's a nurse .. :whome:

I hear you, Lon. Its more than just changing a bandage in the beginning. There's the cleaning and changing of the dressing.
Having done it for my wife, I have no idea how you could have done that by yourself on your back. Its such a long healing process to deal with. Hope none come back on you. Wish you a good recovery.

Lon, I hope your skin cancer problems are over completely. There are long handled instruments, like to apply lotion (or something similar) to your back, back scrubbers, etc.

You got me thinking about the Vet Wrap bandage I buy sometimes for my pets, it's a stretchy bandage on a roll that comes in many colors. This site tells some uses for it for people http://theruraleconomist.blogspot.com/2015/03/24-uses-for-vet-wrap.html. So, if you needed to somehow put a bandage on your back, that Vet Wrap can be wrapped around your chest and it adheres to itself. We always take some camping for pet emergencies, or for a wound we may get.

Where there's a will Lon, there's usually a way...although not always. :)

My Dad has mentioned how difficult it can be. I've helped with some of the lower back bandages from time to time. I have never lived alone in my life...wonder if I could teach the pups to open band aids if need be?
