Well, I've come indoors it's verrry hot, and the humidity has me beat... however I was in the middle of putting bolts and screws into the new table while assembling it, and something bit me right on my index finger right on the cuticle.....I didn't see a wasp or anything but whatever it was the sting was more painful than I can ever remember having since a hornet got me years ago...

Within seconds the pain was just unbearable, I didn't have any lotions nearby so I just sprayed my finger quickly with some Jungle Formula, and incredibly it took the pain out almost instantly

@hollydolly, whenever a medical person says to me, "Ok, just a little bee sting..." before jabbing me, I say to them, "Have you been stung by a bee lately? It hurts like the dickens!"

How odd (and wonderful) that an insect repellent would take the pain away! I wouldn't have thought to try it.
exactly.... no nor me..it was only desperation to take the pain away that I grabbed the first thing I thought might help.. and wonders of wonders.. it worked

I had a visit today from a lovely swallow-tailed hawk in my yard. They aren't "endangered" here in Florida but they have been deemed to be "of concern". This is the first time I can remember seeing one in my yard as they don't usually hang around in neighborhoods....they like marshes and open areas. It was really nice seeing something different. I'm surprised my resident red-shoulder hawk didn't run him off.

Well, I went out shopping. The intense heat & bright sun was the best medicine I could have! Forgot to buy Swiss Cheese. Beating myself up over it, like I'm not allowed to be human and forget something! You'd think I committed a crime, the way I treat myself!

Anyway, going out again, it felt so very very good.

We call them kites up here in north Fla. I saw one downtown yesterday in Starke. I have seen many in my small town west of Starke

A ground hornet nest is near by. Look for a 1" diameter hole in the ground, most likely near a place with some ground cover to camo it' when dark or early in the morning with a flashlight.

A Vacuum cleaner works best very early in the morning. Over the hole it will get most of them in an hour or so. Let em die before you dump the filter & bag out. Spraying the hole and drowning them with soapy water works but so do more stings get on one. Cover eyes with sunglasses or safety glasses. They always go for our eyes first. Soapy hot water will work early in the morning if you can't power a vacuum or don't have a battery one. Just pour 5 gallons of soapy water in the hole, drowns em. I needed to use 2 - 20V DeWalt's last year for 2 infestations. They are getting aggressive. I also dumped lots of hot soapy water down those 2 big holes.

It takes soapy water to drown them.

Sad day here. A long time friend goes into Alzheimer's care. His wife and son can no longer care for him. She said this morning she feels like a widow. Very sad to be alive and not know your loved ones. She says she feels like a widow because he is gone and has no memory. She feels like he died.

it wasn't a hornet that got me this time... but if ever it does again, I'll look for that...

sadly he kinda has died.. altho' she's still fortunate unlike real widows that she gets to see him still, touch him, hug him.. he might not be the man she married.. but he's still very much there... physically..

Unfortunately he hasn't allowed her to touch him for some time. She has no plans to even visit since he is belligerent with her and doesn't even know who she is. I agree with her, she has been thru enough. She is in a wheelchair. The son retired early to care for them. Now just his mother, but that will still keep him busy.

Sorry to say that I forgot to bring my tick collection. along for your viewing pleasure.

Would love to have few choice words to whom ever dropped off their cat in the woods.
Spend most of a day trying to find our dog Mac.

Special thanks to ATV club members who found him.

Hope all is well with everyone. :) (y)(y)

I'm way behind doing laundry,, & household chores.

5:30 a.m. laundry time. It was already starting to get hot. I walked to the supermarket at 8:20 and was home by 9:00. Walking back I noticed it was officially too hot for that time in the morning! That prompted me to realize that I would not be trying to go to my doctor's appointment on Monday when the real feel is supposed to be between 104 & 110. So I called and had it changed to a tele-visit. I also reorganized some stock so I could finish putting away the Costco haul from yesterday.

Yesterday was burning hot..... 🌞 🌞 🌞 .last night was very hot trying to sleep even with the fan on the bedside drawers...

I got my new Garden table assembled.. it was hard work... it's very heavy but it's needed to hold the large heavy parasol.... however I don't think I've done it properly it's still a little wobbly....but I don't fancy taking it all apart again today..

I had thought of going to the beach today.. I'm glad I didn't because altho' it's Hot.. at 80 deg... it's cloudy.. and forecast to be the same over the weekend...

Anyway I'll see what they day brings, let's hope it's all good and for you all too...

It's just so good to see you all, all of you, thank you for being here every morning I open computer.
Took a Parkinson drug last night, for first time.
Woke up feeling strange, can't describe it, somehow out of body, so I came here and here you all are, like you are every day, to bring me some normalcy.

Today is Library Book Club at 3pm, which seems so far away. Wasn't able to really read book, Harlem Shuffle, as I was dealing with Parkinson diagnosis. Regret that, as I was liking book.

Oh, I remember why I didn't read it. Having trouble reading indoors. I would think I forgot how to read, except I am able to read outside, where I must schlep to park, and couldn't as awful weather of clouds and rain for weeks, which depressed me greatly. Now sun is out, going to get extremely hot, a heat wave.
