What kind of handbag do you like?

I got me a new one today - just from a charity shop at a bargain price. It's been ages since I had a new bag but this one caught my eye. I like one with several pockets, a medium size, not too large but roomy enough for my purse, phone, kindle.
A handbag is an important item to me, but I wouldn't ever spend much on it, it just has to be practical and a dark colour, nothing eye-catching. I like mine on my arm with a fairly short handle, not shoulder bags as I used to prefer. Just moving my things into it now and it's nice to treat myself.

I have various types of bags, large, meium, smallish... all are shoulder bags with handles which means they can be used either way... I use a crossbody bag if I feel I might be somewhere where ther'es a likelihood that I could be robbed..like London... but I can't have them too small because I have to have sace for numerous things.. including my Iphone, wallet specs case.. keys etc...

I always have a bag regardless of the size with outer zips which means easy access for things like painkillers , comb or lipstick .. save me rooting around inside the main compartment

Currently I am using a Boston Barrel bag which holds a lot given how small it is...

I have tan , green, red, Pale Blue, Pink.. turquoise, black, brown, and navy and white stripe..... bags currently... ..and over and above those I have various backpacks ..

I prefer a larger over the shoulder bag but with my oxygen and all I now have a backpack as it's easier for me to carry the load on my back. I have to have my portable nebulizer with me along with other inhalers and whatnot.
,,,also Marci.. you can get some really pretty backpacks as well these days... and they don't cost very much now either. I've got a theft proof one, and it has so many different pockets I can't even remember how many exactly.. it holds loads, it hardly cost more than a few £'s

I've been having the hardest time finding a new bag. I tend to go for a smallish black handbag. No cross body or shoulder bags. I will use it everyday, nothing fancy. I've looked at Macy's (so expensive), Kohl's, Nordstrom's and Target. I thinking of looking at Shein online. Hopefully, I'll find something there.

I think I have more bags than I do shoes. 😮
I really, really love handbags!
These days, I usually carry a small crossbody as I don’t carry much anymore…my phone, sunglasses a couple of masks, hand sanitizer and my wallet.
I got one of those tiny wallets that basically just hold your cards which is all I use now. It does have room for a little cash and it clips to the inside of my purse to keep things safe.
When I’m staying with my daughter, I use a tote bag to carry my overnight garb, pills, toiletries and some snacks for us.
Lately, I have been finding some real bargains on second hand bags on Poshmark.

Travelon Crossbody, theft-resistant straps and body.

It’s not too large so I have to be efficient.

I’ve had a few of this brand over the years. I’ve got this in one in a couple of other colours. I want to be able to spot it quickly when travelling.

I would say I like just the same as you but a lighter neutral color and crossbody.

I have a Baggalini now that's similar. I've had a Travelon I liked too. I like functional purses.

The reason I use Travelon is because the straps are cut-resistant. We had a couple of cases where purse straps were cut and the thieves were gone before the seniors knew what happened. They used to just be for travel for me.

I didn't realize that. Thanks. I'm sure you could cut the straps on this Baggalini.

look at this bag only £8 on Temu... I don't have it, but my point is not everyone can afford a lot of money for a bag , and so there are some nice ones to be had for just a few $$
