Is it hot enough for you

It was real feel high of 111 in my city yesterday and down a bit today to 106. I've been staying in and thank God, we did not have a power outage like several N.J. towns did yesterday. My son was in Linden, N.J. when he texted this to me from inside the truck he was assigned, which thankfully has working A.C. It indicates the temperature outside.

People often say they don't want to live in Texas because it is so hot, but it was in the 90's today with low humidity. I walked outside and didn't break a sweat. We were below our average while most of the rest of the country is above. Who knows? With all the crazy climate stuff we may actually become temperate. 🤷‍♂️

My area got a break late this afternoon in the form of cloud cover. It was enough to stop the sun from heating things up as bad as it was yesterday and for that I am grateful.

Even the water tubs were tad bit cooler, but I still had to empty and clean them thanks to the bird poop. I don’t mind the birds sitting there and drinking water. Everybody needs water, but they should at least turn their butts to the outside when they have to take care of business.🤯🤯

The dewpoint was in the high 70‘s again today and that’s what makes this weather so evil.

I have to time the dogs when they go outside because they don’t have enough sense to know when to come in. They lay out there in that hot sun panting, but won’t come to the door and ask to get in. I set the timer so I don’t forget about them.

The horses are in front of the big barrel fans in the barn. When they get sick of being in the barn, they’ll rush out and do some grazing for 10 or 15 minutes then make a beeline back for the fans in the barn.

they’ve worked up a sweat which is a good thing because that makes their skin wet, so the fan blowing on them feels cool to them. my 30 something-year-old is still bright and alert with a great appetite. The 14-year-old is also bright and alert, but overweight with a great appetite🙄

I remember years ago I took a vacation down to Lampasas Texas and it was 98/94 for the 5 days I was there the 6th day when I was getting ready to leave the humidity dropped to 57 and we had one banging lightning and thunderstorm for several hours very enjoyable but I still was not prepared for the Texas Heat.

I'm suspect of what the local weather reported. They said 98 with a heat index of 105 and (blistering humid). Well, I live in an older building with no central AC. People have window units and only one was running. Everyone had their windows open, Our parking lot was being tarred, and those guys weren't bothered. People were out walking around. I even took my AC out for the year.

This is our forecast for the coming 8 days. IMG_4651.jpeg
Up until today, the temps were in the high 90’s and heat index between 102-108. Add to that the humidity that the south is famous for, and the heat was brutal! 🥵

We’re aitting on the porch having our morning coffee. It’s just a bit after 7.00am and the temperature is already at 76 degrees. The humidity has backed off some though so it’s pleasant.

tuesday it was 102. yesterday it was 60. i actually slept with an extra blanket last nite.
it was nice to turn off the a/c though.
Right? Our heatwave has broken today, and we've just turned off the a/c for a while because it's freezing in the house right now. Abrupt but very welcome change.

Yo wanna be hot ? Come over here....

We are still in the heat wave here in northern Alabama . Right now (8:50 AM) it is 80, F/L 87, and 81% humidity. We are so glad to have the little swimming pool in the back yard. It is not large enough to actually swim, but perfect for keeping cool and getting a suntan. We are back to showing rain in the forecast for the next few days, but that does not mean that we will actually get any rain.
This has been a rainy year, which is great for the growing plants, but not good for doing yard work.

Living in the land where air conditioning is considered to be a good fan, it's been hot.

However, we've been saved. There's a constant breeze. That has made is bearable. It'll be 90F or so on Tuesday, but if the breeze persists, I think we're okay.
