@Pepper I am so sorry that you are going through this.I can't walk on sand without help. I'm afraid of the heat. I can't go in the water anymore, because I can't get out and am afraid of cutting my feet on shells, since I am on blood thinners. I'm afraid I'll have to go to the bathroom and not get there in time. I'm afraid of leaving my apartment for any reason. Fear has overtaken me, has taken hold of what used to be my spirit.
I'm starting to be afraid I have dementia.
Wow. I don't blame you for speaking up about that!I'm feeling kind of at loose ends and grumpy today.
I was looking forward to a bus trip next month to a historic town that had a nice agenda that included a morning walking tour, then a lunch break, then a museum (more walking, but with air conditioning).
But somehow in the choice for a restaurant it is as if the whole point of the trip became the restaurant and now in order to go to the restaurant that supposedly people want (tho I didn't see any vote tallies), all the walking will be done (4 hrs in a row) without a break for food or rest, our time for the museum is shrunk a lot, and then the restaurant will be for the last two hours before the bus goes home.
I probably can't get my money back but I will try to make a stink about it because I consider the change substantial enough that it is like false advertising, and I'm really disappointed because I would have liked to go if they'd kept the original plan.
Meanwhile, life's minor disappointments aside, tonight our building is having an ice-cream social and tomorrow I plan to go to the bird watching club's watching of Purple Martins.
Is it your birthday PT ?We are all alive here, beautiful and sassy! ......
I just asked my wife what she thought, she said,
"Look for birthday presents; it's going to rain and cool down shortly!" ..........
Thank you.Beautiful picture @againstthegrain. I do miss seeing mountains.

Excellent Lateral thinking, David....Days ago, mentioned I planned to mount something atop my recently purchased 2023 Trailblazer LS in order to be able to recognize the car in say parking lots from a distance. Especially since so many other vehicles are also white. Yesterday received from Amazon my ordered 4 each for $5 total, GoPro mount adaptors so this morning after mass, drove to Michael's craft store to hunt for something to fit into the mount. Nope.
Then drove to a Dollar Store and found these neon lime green dog toys, so bought two for $1.25 each. Then back home, with a hand coping saw, sawed off one toy end, drilled a hole through it, then fitted a screw into it and then into the adaptor. The rectangular black and red items are the GoPro fixtures I glued onto the top of my car. The black items at the end of the bones are the adaptors that fit into the fixtures and can easily be removed by hand just like the video cameras they were meant for.
So the lime dog toy bones are not something anyone would bother to steal. And if someone did or it broke off is cheap to replace. Can now recognize my car from a distance. I could add another at the rear end, so may do so later.
Since my sore lower back muscles have healed, yesterday began street aerobic dance exercising again and woke up this morning fine. Well my constructive activity is complete for this day so will have some more fun.
Good for you for getting that exercise in. Glad you're able to do so without pain. Interesting way to now recognize your vehicle. Nice ride BTW. Those dog bones would have been a nice addition to my Lime Green thread.View attachment 435039
Days ago, mentioned I planned to mount something semi discreet atop my recently purchased 2023 Trailblazer LS in order to be able to recognize the car in say parking lots from a distance. Especially since so many other vehicles are also white. Yesterday received from Amazon my ordered 4 each for $5 total, GoPro mount adaptors so this morning after mass, drove to Michael's craft store to hunt for something I could cluge into the mount. Nope.
Then drove to a Dollar Store and found these amazingly bright neon lime green dog toys, so bought two for $1.25 each shown below. Then back home, with a hand coping saw, sawed off one toy end, drilled a hole through it, then fitted a screw into it and then into the adaptor. The rectangular black and red items are the GoPro fixtures I glued onto the top of my car. The black items at the end of the bones with screw heads showing are the end of adapters that fit into the fixtures and can easily be removed by hand just like the video cameras they were meant for. If someone asks what the green things are, I'll humor them that they are special Direct TV antenna.

Three of us old folks are preparing for a 6 day backpacking trip into the High Sierra in about 3 weeks so I need to step up my fitness preparation and will soon be going through gear. But not today!

I have never done the ancestry thing but, I have relatives who have and, it is really interesting, the things we never knew. I expect younger generations will be much better informed about their distant ancestors than we were because, all the information will be there for them.In the middle of the night, I did some accounting for my son. I also spent a lot of time on Ancestry looking at my matches. With 20 people per page there were 976 pages! With 50 people, there's 391. Later in the day my online bestie, who'd done a lot of work in my tree in the last 24 hours, taught me a bit more about using the site and where to go for additional free information.
She found out that my first and one of my favorite first social networking friends (from Eons, now FB) may be a cousin! If that's true, I'll be so excited. She found out about a year ago that she is related to him. And she and I have been teasing that perhaps we'll find out we're cousins.
She has a slew of Vietnamese cousins and lo and behold, she found some among my DNA matches too. Also, I danced around while doing light cleaning. The rest of the day was spent napping and re-watching a couple of episodes of Will Trent.
Interesting to read about your aerobics @David777 I sometimes have joint pains and, the most effective way I have found to deal with it is exercise - usually a combination of my spin bike, walking up and down the stairs and, of course, dancing around the kitchenView attachment 435039
