How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

Today I've installed 2 motion sensor strip lights.. and a new surge protector 3 way adaptor has gone into the socket which controls my computer.

I'm having a bit of problem with my computer. Whenever I try to use Postimage, or upload a photo using the forum link, my whole computer freezes, and I have to restart it.. that's happened 3 times today already...

We had torrential rain and thunderstorms for 6 hours non stop... and it stopped 15 minutes ago.. yet the ground is so arid, that you would never guess it had rained...

Big news of the day:
I got my hair cut!!!!
emoticon

Yep! It's gone (for now)!!

My day didn't start out as well as I would have liked.....
I put 4 eggs in the pan for breakfast, but one of them was no good. 🙁. The Girls are not laying many eggs right now, and they are not keeping up with our usage. I had to throw away all 4 eggs. I just hope that it's not an omen for the rest of the day! 🙄

The expected rain for this morning broke apart and missed us!!!! I can hardly believe it! Yea!

I've been trying to work on my Dad's Navy pictures, backing them up on my hard drive and putting them in order, etc. There is only one picture left that I need to figure out where it was taken, other than that, I'm on a roll. I still have a long way to go, but the end is in sight.

For the most part, I'm trying to take it easy today. I have another busy week coming up, with various appointments and procedures for Dio, my Mom, and myself.

I can't walk on sand without help. I'm afraid of the heat. I can't go in the water anymore, because I can't get out and am afraid of cutting my feet on shells, since I am on blood thinners. I'm afraid I'll have to go to the bathroom and not get there in time. I'm afraid of leaving my apartment for any reason. Fear has overtaken me, has taken hold of what used to be my spirit.

I'm starting to be afraid I have dementia.
@Pepper I am so sorry that you are going through this.

Apologies if I have misunderstood your posts but, I think you are afraid to leave the relative safety of your own home - an environment where you feel safer and where you feel more able to cope if anything should happen? If this is the case, I think you might be suffering from agrophobia.

The things you describe remind me so much of an ex-work colleague who had agrophobia. I can't honestly remember the details of the treatment she received but, I do remember her saying that anxiety treatments helped - exercises, yoga and similar relaxation strategies. I do remember she used to go for very short walks, sometimes just a few steps outside and she gradually built up her confidence again. Do you have anyone who would be able to help you do that?

If agrophobia fits your symptoms, you can research it online and perhaps speak to your doctor about treatment/help.

Overview - Agoraphobia

I have always liked your posts and I hope you continue to contribute. I wish you well 🤗

I'm feeling kind of at loose ends and grumpy today.

I was looking forward to a bus trip next month to a historic town that had a nice agenda that included a morning walking tour, then a lunch break, then a museum (more walking, but with air conditioning).

But somehow in the choice for a restaurant it is as if the whole point of the trip became the restaurant and now in order to go to the restaurant that supposedly people want (tho I didn't see any vote tallies), all the walking will be done (4 hrs in a row) without a break for food or rest, our time for the museum is shrunk a lot, and then the restaurant will be for the last two hours before the bus goes home.

I probably can't get my money back but I will try to make a stink about it because I consider the change substantial enough that it is like false advertising, and I'm really disappointed because I would have liked to go if they'd kept the original plan.

Meanwhile, life's minor disappointments aside, tonight our building is having an ice-cream social and tomorrow I plan to go to the bird watching club's watching of Purple Martins.

Wow. I don't blame you for speaking up about that!

Well I didn't win the state lottery last night so I got to wait for the next two days and see what happens. The next two days are going to be around 93 to 94° and so I'm just going to enjoy my fan.

We are all alive here, beautiful and sassy! ... :ROFLMAO: ...
I just asked my wife what she thought, she said,
"Look for birthday presents; it's going to rain and cool down shortly!" ..... .....

Days ago, mentioned I planned to mount something semi discreet atop my recently purchased 2023 Trailblazer LS in order to be able to recognize the car in say parking lots from a distance. Especially since so many other vehicles are also white. Yesterday received from Amazon my ordered 4 each for $5 total, GoPro mount adaptors so this morning after mass, drove to Michael's craft store to hunt for something I could cluge into the mount. Nope.

Then drove to a Dollar Store and found these amazingly bright neon lime green dog toys, so bought two for $1.25 each shown below. Then back home, with a hand coping saw, sawed off one toy end, drilled a hole through it, then fitted a screw into it and then into the adaptor. The rectangular black and red items are the GoPro fixtures I glued onto the top of my car. The black items at the end of the bones with screw heads showing are the end of adapters that fit into the fixtures and can easily be removed by hand just like the video cameras they were meant for. If someone asks what the green things are, I'll humor them that they are special Direct TV antenna.

So the lime dog toy bones are not something anyone would bother to steal. And if someone did or it broke off is cheap to replace. Can now recognize my car from a distance. I could add another at the rear end, so may do so later.

Since my sore lower back muscles have healed, yesterday began street aerobic dance exercising again and woke up this morning fine. Well my constructive activity is complete for this day so will have some more fun. Three of us old folks are preparing for a 6 day backpacking trip into the High Sierra in about 3 weeks so I need to step up my fitness preparation and will soon be going through gear. But not today!

Excellent Lateral thinking, David....(y)(y)

In the middle of the night, I did some accounting for my son. I also spent a lot of time on Ancestry looking at my matches. With 20 people per page there were 976 pages! With 50 people, there's 391. Later in the day my online bestie, who'd done a lot of work in my tree in the last 24 hours, taught me a bit more about using the site and where to go for additional free information.

She found out that my first and one of my favorite online friends (from Eons, now FB) may be a cousin! If that's true, I'll be so excited. She found out about a year ago that she is related to him. And she and I have been teasing for years that perhaps we'll find out we're cousins.
She has a slew of Vietnamese cousins and lo and behold, she found some among my DNA matches too.

Also, today I danced around while doing light cleaning. The rest of the day was spent napping and re-watching episodes of Will Trent.

Good for you for getting that exercise in. Glad you're able to do so without pain. Interesting way to now recognize your vehicle. Nice ride BTW. Those dog bones would have been a nice addition to my Lime Green thread.

I have never done the ancestry thing but, I have relatives who have and, it is really interesting, the things we never knew. I expect younger generations will be much better informed about their distant ancestors than we were because, all the information will be there for them.

I like your avatar btw. ;)

Interesting to read about your aerobics @David777 I sometimes have joint pains and, the most effective way I have found to deal with it is exercise - usually a combination of my spin bike, walking up and down the stairs and, of course, dancing around the kitchen :)

A thunderstorm yesterday which actually didn't last for long but, was welcome after the humid weather. Raining this morning but, it should stop before I have to go out later for an appointment.

The weather is meant to brighten up, I hope so as we have plans. We are going to join the escapees from the local old peoples' club later - they are hosting one of their, now regular, meet-ups at the pub. It was planned to be in the pub garden but, that may have to change if the weather doesn't warm up later.

Hope you all have a great Monday :)

This link will take you to the photo gallery of Poole Goes Vintage, 2024. If you scroll down to row seven, the third photo is that of us in our classic MG. Hold on, let me find it.

The organisers have just been on the phone to ask us for confirmation that we will be back for this year's event, on the coming Sunday.
Of course we will. Now then, what to wear? Have a look at that link, there's some amazing vintage outfits worn by all.

I had a look and it looks great fun. I love all the ladies' dresses.

I am going to take a wild guess that your outfit will include a stripey blazer and a pair of stylish shoes :)
