Do we Seniors Eat Too Much Fruit?

He never said everyone should avoid grapefruit, he clearly explained that some people should, because it can interfere with certain medications. So, maybe if you had actually paid attention and watched the whole video instead of tuning out when it didn’t suit you, you’d know that. Twisting what someone says without paying attention is exactly how misinformation spreads.

I think taking clickbait articles as gospel is how misinformation spreads.

Presentation matters - if one is serious about imparting information one titles the article what it is actually about and gets to the point concisely and without melodramatic claims.

But hey, get all huffy when people point that out.
:oops::rolleyes:

I am 84 years old and a borderline diabetic and have stage 3 kidney disease, I find this information very important...some of it I already know, some not, I watch my numbers closely... now. I know firsthand the damage certain foods will cause after we get up in years...thank you for posting the warnings.

Amazing how folks who won’t finish watching something claim to know what it says, and then blame others for "spreading misinformation." That’s rich.

Well I explained why. Presentation matters if one is serious about imparting information.

Sorry, won't be watching any of the other 6 clickbait begging articles either.

Not into melodrama.

@oslooskar, I gave your OP a "like" reaction, since you posted something you felt would benefit seniors. Maybe some will find it helpful; who knows.

I came on this morning to catch up from when I signed off last night, and only have a limited amount of time, so I confess I did not view the video. It's 56 minutes, and right now I don't have time.

That's not to say I will never view it. I may, but it doesn't really apply to me, since I don't like fruit and never eat it.

Since they are all purportedly by same source and all make melodramatic claims, yes, it shows they are clickbait.

100% in agreement with againstthegrain here.

That’s fine, January, if you’d rather judge headlines than hear the actual info, that’s your call. Just don’t pretend ignoring facts is a virtue.

As noted some fruits might conflict with medication or exacerbate existing conditions. Fruit could affect blood sugar. Or affect stomach acid.

That being said stuff like the vitamin C could be a help along with keeping things moving along.

Oh it wasnt just the misleading headline, it was the melodramatic style and the drawnout verbosity. 10 minutes of that was more than enough for me.

I will stick to reputable sources that can present information in a concise manner.

But if anyone wants to watch 7 hours or so of this stuff, good luck to them.

Amazing, attention span runs out, so the facts must not matter. Enjoy those "reputable sources" hopefully they spoon-feed you fast enough. lol

One thing that is indisputable is that the OP expects a certain reaction to his threads, and deviation from that is not acceptable. As far as the video, clickbait may or may not have any value/truth/relevancy but its still clickbait. I'm out.

Expecting people to watch before weighing in isn’t demanding agreement, it’s asking for basic reading comprehension in video form. If that’s too much, "out" is probably best.

Yea, and she (the doctor) seems to have specialized in both Brain surgery and Heart surgery! Wow, I have never heard of a doctor that has these two specialties before. She must be something very special and so young to have two major SPECIALTIES!

So can you tell me in your very own words exactly what was said in the video that you disagree with?

On the serious side, something like grapefruit juice (and others) conflicts with medication in a bad way? It seems to me it is the medication conflicting with a healthy diet item... That doesn't sound like a medication I would be keen to take.

Looks like a big pharma propaganda video scaring you into changing your diet so you can take more meds.(y)
