Coffee, as if it weren't high enough already.

Really hate to see it but it was announced yesterday that the U.S. has imposed a 50% tariff on Brazil and I'd be willing to bet that coffee prices start going through the roof pretty quick.....not going to go crazy but we plan on stocking up a few.

Yeap....I drink Folgers Colombian coffee 40 oz canister, the last time there was talk of raising tariffs in Brazil I stocked up so now I'm down to 3 canisters...should have bought more. I have paid around $15 a canister for this coffee for a long time, now it is $25.00, I just checked Walmart.

I buy Yuban. Have a spare in storage. But at $8.98 a can (44 ounces) I can absorb the hike when it hits.

Most of the coffee beans in the USA come from Brazil - 35%. Another 27% come from Columbia. After that it’s all small potatoes…. Errrrrr beans.

Fortunately I don't drink coffee, can't even stand the smell. Especially on peoples breath. Smells like skunk spray. I'm so glad I don't have to deal with coffee drinkers after lunch and break anymore, I actually had to turn my head or hold my breath.

There's brands of tea bags in the US that are more affordable than coffee. I'll likely make the switch. I'm not coughing up a lung to pay for the coffee.

It seems odd that we are imposing tariffs on one of the few countries where we have a trade surplus.

Whatever happened to; if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

IMO it’s too early to get upset, very few of these punitive new tariffs ever seem to materialize.

Been buying every time my brand goes on sale for nearly a year now. I have about 25lbs "just chilling."

I noticed coffee prices rose yesterday on all brands. Over 30%. I thought coffee is from Columbia and Africa. Damn.
The fine grain dark kinds do last longer.

Oh snap, just bit on 4lbs of coffee. I could not resist, these are my 2 favored coffee growing regions and these will prob sell out quickly.







Thankfully they don't collect sales tax for the state of Idaho, %6 on food, so that's $6 saving over buying locally.
