Good spot to share some old photos

On the flip side... one of our many Chevy's that didn't stand the test of time. This one flipped on it's top, slid along on it's roof, cleaned a small porch off a house, and wrapped around an elm tree. All 3 of us fools walked away.
Yeah, I really liked yellow 57's with flames. Had a slew of them.

And none of you probably were not belted in. Actually, other than the roof being collapsed, the car looks to be in not too bad of condition for all it went through.

The car in my post #44 had 3 people, 2 males, 1 female, all dead at the scene. One was decapitated. No evidence of which one was the driver. We knew who owned the vehicle, but without proof, we couldn’t assign who the driver was. That accident was my second crash with at least 1 decapitation. Talk about becoming sick, I did, both times.

Why some people walk away from a terrible crash and others are severely injured or killed are a mystery to many. The 3 people killed in the car in post #44, also were not wearing seatbelts.

I hear you. I drove a tow truck for a while and some of those wrecks were the worst I'd seen. One that sticks in my mind was a Falcon hit a tree that sheered it in 2 just behind the drivers seat. The front half then hit another tree and drove the engine into the driver. It was horrible. I wish anyone thinking of driving after drinking could see what we've seen. I'd bet it would cut down drunk driving a bit.
You were correct, in our case also... no seatbelts. The tree however did get up close and personal with me. Not a good feeling. Because I had installed a later 4 speed in the car, I had to fabricate a crossmember for the trans mount. That crossmember took the tree impact full on and bent both frame rails and in doing so, it prevented the car from being ripped in half.

I totally agree with that dog. The doors were huge and heavy. I only drove it on special occasions as the wife didn’t like to part with it. I drove a little Toyota pickup.

Yeah, wife loved those big boats. Leaving the east coast, we sold the QE2 and bought a 72 Lincoln Mark IV. and when we got settled out west, we also bought a LTD II. What boats. :)
