Going to the Opera was on my bucket list. My sister invited me about a year ago. It was fun. I hope you get a chance to go one day.

Me too, @Fritz! I've been resigning myself to going to local theater broadcasts of the Met Opera. But that's not exactly the same.

And I'll likely never be able to retire, either.

i used to listen to the met operas on the radio but i'm never awake for them now and the radio reception where i live kinda sucks. i suppose i could listen on youtube. they surely have something.

I learned some Spanish by playing tapes in my car and on a Walkman if I was flying. Not super fluent, but I could buy something to eat, a tank of gas, and a t-shirt. Been to 7 Spanish speaking countries. Some for only a day, others for much longer. I am too old to travel anymore.
 
I feel very fortunate to have been in the travel industry. I traveled on business to 5 continents (never been to Antarctica or Africa). I understand Antarctica is amazing but have no desire to go. I would love to go on an African safari and visit Cape Town.

We still continue to travel to places like Canada, Alaska, Central America and the Mediterranean. We sailed through the Panama Canal a couple of years ago and it was fascinating. Planning a trip to Northern Europe next year. I still have lofty goals!
 
Country house with a wrap around porch on a hill in the Ozarks. Great sunrise and sunset views. Fenced in by a tall metal fence and a couple really big dogs to keep the critters out.

Cruise to nowhere: just stay onboard when the ship is docked for shore excursions.
